About time for the Aztecs to get the Kusi's Silver Pigskin winner and sign to play for SDSU. Ryan Lindley won the Silver Pigskin Award and stayed home to play for the Aztecs. Add any other Silver Pigskin winners that decided to play for SDSU.

Aztecs fans know what a temper Eric Musselman has during Nevada=Reno games. During the videotaped Arkansas at Oklahoma game Dec.11, Musselman earned two consecutive technical fouls for yelling at the refs and was ejected. MWC refs put up with his crap but about time refs T'ED up that pompous jerk.

Leatherwood rallied Scripps Ranch to a state title today. Scripps led for all but one possession when Wilcox Chargers scored to take a 28-24 with about 2 minutes left. A Wilcox holding call nullified their interception. Scripps then drove the field for a game winning TD with 27 seconds left and a state championship. Thanks to Maxpreps website for game details. Note: San Diego went 3 for 3 in state title game as Scripps Ranch, Cathedral Catholic and Mater Dei all won to claim state championships. Well done!!!!!!

How about working on the day these Aztecs football bowl games take place as the No.1 reason to not attend bowl games. Attendance at work is mandatory in December. Even when the Aztecs played in the Freedom Bowl in Anaheim in 1991, the Holiday Bowl, which I worked for the stadium vending company, was played the same day and time. March is different as I use my vacation days for attending the conference basketball tournament.

A follow up article from Aug. 16 is due from Kirk Kennney in the San Diego Union Tribune titled "Aztecs mostly silent on Covid-19 vaccination rates for football as fall semester nears". How many fully vaccinated players on the Aztecs football team ended up getting Covid-19 and missed the Utah State fiasco is a question that must be answered?

It sounded like the show has a place in high school football. Props to The Show for being good teachers for the Patrick Henry students section at tonight's game against Birmingham. When Henry tied the game at 35, the students were so loud. Except for when Birmingham took a 35-7 lead, the Henry Students loudness started at kickoff and continued throughout the game. Sadly, Henry had two passes intercepted and a penalty that nullified a touchdown in the second period which brought out the B.S. chant. The mistakes cost Henry the game 42-35, one with a chance to tie or win the game with about 2 minutes left.

Maxpreps says it is Kyle Crum of Norco who had 2,599 passing yards, 22 tds. Norco's season ended by losing to powerhouse and state open finalist and No. 1 nationally ranked undefeated Santa Ana Mater Dei.

Good news is the Henry Patriots will host Birmingham Patriots of Lake Balboa near Van Nuys Saturday at 6 p.m. This winner goes to the state 3A division final.

Let all the games for that week be played before deciding winners and losers. Auburn tops the loser list for giving alabama 40 more seconds to tie. Then auburn loses in 3 OT.

Update: PHHS 49 U.C. 21. Now onto the state tournament and hopefully a home game on a Saturday or 2. First time CIF football section champs. Other championship appearances happened in 1971,1973,1974 and 1994. GO PATRIOTS, from class of 1984.

The attendance was ok considering the late move to Las Vegas and no Nevada based teams. A tournament like this should happen at the Mandalay Bay Arena in Las Vegas. 8 teams where all play 3 games. The new name is the Las Vegas Invitational.

Should Oregon State beat Oregon and Washington State beat Washington, there would be a 3-way tie for 1st at 6-3 in conference and Washington State would go to Pac 12 championship game because of winning the north division tiebreaker.

Hawaii is 5-7 now. Teams have to have a .500 or better record to be bowl eligible unless there are not enough bowl eligible teams. 20 teams are going for 10 spots.72 teams
have become bowl eligible.

Unlv fouls Wichita State who hits 2 free throws to take a 74-73 lead with 3+ seconds left. Unlv inbounds ball, gets it into the front court when Unlv player tries to push off and slips as time runs out. Unlv blew an 11-point lead in the second half.

It is 6 Pac-12 bowl eligible teams. Both Oregon schools, Washington State, Utah, Arizona State and ucla. The Holiday Bowl may have a local policy regarding SDSU playing in that bowl. Wake Forest may be the ACC team. The MW now has 7 bowl eligible teams and possible 8 if San Jose beats fresno.
