Yep.
The “Who Cares” Bowl.
I remember when we played in this bowl before. No fans went. We didn’t even show up as a team, losing badly to Ohio - we were shut out IIRC. Lost to a team we should’ve been able to take to the woodshed.
Not only didn’t any Aztec fans show up, the team didn’t show up for that game.

Don’t get all the complaints…it’s not like we’re playing a 7-5 MAC team. UTSA went 12-1 on the season, were ranked up until last week, and won their conference.

Basically a road game for the Aztecs
against a team that the MW should have added to our Conference
Could help if we are recruiting additional players from Texas
Does give us shorter time to practice
take it we face another quality QB

Let’s see if the team gets up for this game or do they continue with the lackadaisical attitude they had yesterday.
If they couldn’t get up for a conference championship game not sure they will for a CUSA opponent.

Another early (Dec 21) bowl. Good location and a fair opponent. We got some respect staying in the top 25 after the bad loss.

This is good for the following reasons:
December 21, 5:30 pm on ESPN - better that the 18th.
UTSA: get to dong on BYU who was expecting UTSA and got UASB instead playing Dec 18th at 12:30 pm on ABC.
The team will be looking to make amends for a crappy performance and everyone should be out of Covid protocol.
Win and we should stay ranked in the CFP.

Heck, First Responders Bowl is way better than this bowl. I don't know how the #24 team in the country plays in the Frisco Bowl. I think the Frisco Bowl thinks all the Aztec fans will go up to Frisco and fill the stadium...WRONG

Their fans are also rightfully angered at this match-up.
I hate how TV ruined the match-ups vs power conference teams.
