Maybe I have this wrong but I think...If Utah (who we beat) wins Saturday they become PAC12 Champions. If we win our next two we are MWC Champions and earn the right to Play The PAC12 6th place team in the Bowl Game. Is that correct ? It seems pretty weird.

They also have 2 divisions so the Division Champs will play in the PAC Championship game that could include Utah ?
Yes there is a Bowl game that has #6 from the PAC vs a MW team
Have an additional Q - IF we got to the championship game and get to host it ?
Would people prefer the Aztecs ask the Padres if they would set up Petco Park for the MW Championship game ? If available or play it at Carson .? Would the Aztecs be required to play it in Carson ?
Just a thought ?

My bad , I thought Utah was already in PAC 12 Championship Game ? If the scenario did play out as I stated above it just seems weird to me that our prize for winning The MWC would be to play The PAC 12 6th place team after already having beaten their Conference Champion.

This has nothing to do with the Aztecs, everything to do with the Mountain West being squeezed out of good bowl slots.

Utah is in the P12 CG and will play the winner of OU/OSU for the title… If I had to bet, right now, I would bet that a 12-1 SDSU doesn’t play the 6th place team from the P12… Now if we lose and FSU wins the WMCCG and finishes at 11-3 then they will play in the LA Bowl against someone like OSU or WSU… If P12 can’t fill all bowl games you could see something like a 11-2 Houston in LA to play the 12-1 Aztecs… |

Look at the AAC. (Setting aside Cincinnati's shot at a big bowl due to their ranking)
That conference has these bowls on their radar:
– Fenway Bowl vs. ACC
– Military Bowl vs. ACC
– SoFi Hawaii Bowl vs. Mountain West
Additionally the AAC will get a chance at putting four teams in these bowls …
– Cure Bowl vs. Group of Five or Army
– Myrtle Beach Bowl vs. MAC or Sun Belt
– RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl vs. Group of Five or Army
– SERVPRO First Responder Bowl vs. ACC, Big 12, or Pac-12
– TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl vs. SEC

Should Oregon State beat Oregon and Washington State beat Washington, there would be a 3-way tie for 1st at 6-3 in conference and Washington State would go to Pac 12 championship game because of winning the north division tiebreaker.

For clarification: The Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl will have the MWC Champion (or next highest pick available if champ selected for New Year's Six Bowl) against the "5th" pick from the Pac-12 Conference (NOT the sixth pick). Semi-related question: When will the new Aztec (SnapDragon) Stadium get to host it's first bowl game? At the end of season 1 next year, or after the new hotel is ready? This will be an attractive destination for whatever conferences are involved. Inquiring minds want to know.
