I assume if we win and Cincinnati goes to the playoff we would get the NY6 bowl game, correct? That assumes no other group of 5 jumps us in the rankings, which they shouldn’t after we beat Boise. If Houston beets Cincinnati I’d assume they’d take it.

I would bet that this is what would happen. However I haven't seen anything official as to whether an invite to the playoffs by a G5 team would satisfy the NY6 guarantee. We should know soon.

The NY6 games are the Rose, Sugar, Orange, Cotton, Peach and Fiesta bowls. That never changes. The playoffs rotate between all six bowls. So the 2 CFP playoff games in any given year are part of the NY6 bowls. If a G5 makes the playoffs that is the highest ranked G5 playing in a NY6 bowl, which also happens to be a CFP playoff bowl. G5 doesn't get two bites at the NY6 apple.

I don't believe there is anything that would prevent the selection committee from choosing a second G5 team for a NY6 bowl. However, that is extremely unlikely since I think most fans still harbor a great deal of doubt that Cincinnati will be given a playoff bid. Plus, few if any teams ahead of us in the CFP rankings are losing, so we won't move up very high.

I'm still kinda concerned that if we win and Cincy loses next week that Houston leapfrogs us for the New Years 6 bowl

Holiday bowl would be smart to take the Aztecs.

Let all the games for that week be played before deciding winners and losers. Auburn tops the loser list for giving alabama 40 more seconds to tie. Then auburn loses in 3 OT.

It’s very early but #15 Texas A&M and #17 Pitt are losing. It may be naïve of me but I’d like to think that if Wisconsin, Texas A&M and Pitt all lost, we would pass them.

#2 Ohio State lost #14 Wisconsin lost #22 UTSA lost #7 Ok St and #10 Ok play tonight UTSA got beat soundly by North Texas eliminating them as the only other G5 school who was undefeated. Beat them, 45-23, so now the only G5 team ahead of us is Cincinnati, and there is a very good chance they may get beat by Houston in their championship game on Saturday. We'll see.
