I nominate seven games: the win at Kansas in 2014, the 2010-11 season wins at Gonzaga and the 2011 MWC championship payback win over byu in Las Vegas, also in 2011, the double OT NCAA tournament win over temple and making the sweet 16 for the first time. On Mar. 9, 2018, the win over Nevada in the conference tournament and on feb. 20, 2019 the win over Nevada. March 8, 2014, the comeback winner take all win over New Mexico to win the regular season title.

on the inside college basketball recap show on CBS sports network yesterday, one host gave the AZTECS a lot of respect saying if the AZTECS get past utah state Saturday they could carry the winning streak to 20+ games. I love Coach Dutcher's comment about wanting to continue the (winning) streak and the pressure that comes with it.

good game but where were the rebels fans, a crowd of 7,000+ tickets issued for the utah state game was a disappointment. that means when we visit them jan. 26 there will be room for AZTECS fans to take over the Thomas and Mack making it our home away from home.

the 2019 Nevada-SDSU game had an announced attendance of 12,414 (sellout) and a court storm after the game.

every row had someone sitting there at today's game meaning all the tickets were issued. Utah State hosts the jan. 8 game, the second game will be feb. 1 in san diego, a likely sell out. for cal poly and other home games during the winter break, the students do not use their per game allotment of tickets meaning the public can buy them. that applies to the Jan. 1 game against Fresno State, Jan. 11 against Boise State and Jan. 18 against Nevada. Considering that spring semester starts jan. 22, the students should be back for the Wyoming game jan. 21. It also means the longer the win streak the harder it will be for AZTEC fans to attend home games as they will sell out and less open seats. now is the time for AZTECS fans to buy single game tickets and tournament passes for the mwc tournament in vegas march 1 to 7, 2020. I purchased mine. Utah State will be on spring recess for the conference tournament meaning their fans should be there as well as new mexico. our fans should be there too.

Props to the fans for selling out today's game. The AZTECS joined a select few teams ever who swept non conference play in both football and men's basketball in the same season. the longer the AZTECS keep winning the more recruits will select the AZTECS out of high school and continue the AZTECS winning games as well as playing before sold out home games. this is so much fun. GO AZTECS!!!!

on yahoo sports comments on Smith-Marsette has 3tds iowa beats usc holiday article. the eric m. comment was "the culture of California does not facilitate the masculinity to succeed at football. fruitcakes everywhere". what an ignorant comment. I had to share this with AZTEC nation and posted a reply to him on this yahoo comment. GO AZTECS!!!!!!!!!!

I add three to the all time list: Brandon Heath, Michael Cage, and Anthony Watson. Heath was nearly automatic from the free throw line late in games, top 5 in scoring, cage was a dominate player in the 1980s. top memory was when he blocked two shots in the final seconds in upset win over new mexico and second was when he scored 40+ in a single game and AZTECS top all time rebounder. Watson holds the AZTECS record with 54 points in a single game. info from the AZTECS media guide as well as games I attended in person or watched tv replay.

That was a good Diamond Head classic win for Boise State over UTEP today.

couple this at new mexico with the Queta injury at Utah State and that makes the AZTECS the new favorite to win the league and tournament championship. now the AZTECS need to take one game at a time as the focus is on cal poly.

let me add two games. 1) the 2010 poinsettia bowl win over navy in a game that almost wasn't played because of flooding at the stadium. About 7 inches of rain or more fell in four days causing county wide flooding and first bowl game in 12 years and start of the 10 year consecutive bowl streak. 2) the beatdown of Cincinnati 42-7 at the Hawaii bowl in 2015 must be on the top 5 list. no disrespect to group of five teams but the AZTECS have earned a bowl game against a power 5 team.

what a pair of burial wins for AZTECS today. great basketball fan support today. AZTECS fans better get the tickets Monday as the rest of the home games should sell out. then it is the AZTECS FANS turn to invade Las Vegas for the conference tournament with over 6,000 AZTECS FANS. I will be in Vegas.

a different question might be which game draws the most fans. I say basketball with 15,000 to 12,000 for football. that is a very good doubleheader with SDSU-Utah and Usc-Lsu.

the key was the loss of their linemen Andy Koch. Utah State was not the same team after he got injured.

while it happened at 26 seconds, the one that sticks against the Aztecs was when unlv's Curtis Terry hit that 3 in a 72-69 escape win at Viejas on jan. 26, 2008. unlv went on to win the MWC tournament title in 2007 and 2008. one of three Aztecs home losses that year.

Considering that the men's basketball team plays Utah that day, this was stupid of our athletic department to make fans decide one or the other.

the biggest factor in home attendance is the lack of a top out of conference or conference opponents. in 2020, the Aztecs host ucla (sept 19), which should be the top home attendance followed by the sky show? game against sacramento state (labor day weekend), who is in the fcs playoffs as a ranked team just like weber state. Missing boise state has hurt home football attendance. the rest of the 2020 home conference is hawaii, unlv, san jose state and colorado state will be lucky to break 30,000. in 2011, 57,000+ saw the Washington state game (reg. season record home attendance) followed with 52,000+ for boise state. also, the fact that the fresno state game was on Friday hurt that games attendance as it conflicted with high school football. even notre dame and navy sold out the stadium. in the 80s and 90s, the holiday bowl sold out regularly as it did during the 2005 Arizona and Nebraska game. the holiday bowl's biggest problem is ticket prices are over $100+ now and the wac/mountain west champion no longer plays in the holiday bowl.
