the other big reason for ticket availability now is that byu left the conference. I estimated 7,000+ byu fans at that SDSU AZTECS historic 2011 championship game win as well as the semi-finals and finals selling out (18,000+) with SDSU, unlv, new mexico and byu. That was the largest basketball crowds I have personally attended. before byu left, the lower level would be sold out meaning AZTECS FANS had to buy the all session pass to be in the lower level.

the key thing is to be in Las Vegas, in person, to watch our AZTECS try to win another conference tournament title. Also, it is smart financially to do vacation on a budget and I will not drive during the tournament as I will be drinking aztecaritas on AZTECS men's game days, beer on other days. There are a group of AZTECS FANS who park in trolley lots and take the trolley $5 to men's home games rather than pay $15 to park and fight traffic on campus. I have attended every tournament since 2003, final only in 2018. I choose low priced hotels, no parking fees, and the all session tournament tickets.

the all session pass includes all men's and women's games (20 games). women's games are general admission seating. Individual sessions for men are $50 each. All sessions means one will be seated with AZTECS FANS and cost $250 each ticket plus one gets a free program with coupon. Unless one wants to be in the upper level, it would be advised to buy all sessions from SDSU and increased chance to be in the lower level (sections 112-114) and be seated with AZTEC FANS. I predict the lower level will sell out this year. I bought the all session this year. Buying individual session ticket(s) being able to sit with AZTEC FANS will depend on other teams fans showing up and the ushers. The hard rock was a place but that it closing for renovation in feb. 2020.

The team has lately stayed at the South Point but the team hotel info is missing from the 2020 brochure. Right down the street from the hard rock hotel is Silver Sevens walking distance under a mile to Viejas East aka Thomas and Mack and no parking fees. New Mexico fans stay at Excalibur. The important thing is AZTECS FANS show up in droves this year.

Let's enjoy this season game by game. Keeping AZTECS out of foul trouble should be one of the player's goals and protect the ball on offense. It is hard to beat the opposing players and refs stopping play on every possession from around 15 minutes to about 9 minutes in the second half. GO AZTECS!!!

After the AZTECS win and unlv and Nevada each lost, the AZTECS are the only unbeaten team in conference play. All the others have at least one loss. New Mexico, unlv and Nevada are 3-1 in conference play and still have head to head games left meaning the AZTECS could run away with the regular season title. Good win at Wyoming and let's beat Boise State Saturday.

first, a head coach in any sport is an employee of the athletic department aka athletic director who can step in and demand changes when the team underachieves. second, that change would have been the firing of the offensive coordinator when Coach Long didn't fire Horton that set the stage for his stepping down. third, when Hoke was here in 2009 and 2010, he brought a winning attitude and toughness needed for a head football coach and winning record/top notch bowl games. fourth, the athletic director who is an employee of the athletic department can be replaced for not firing coaches who underachieve. The women's volleyball head coach was let go. 7 losing seasons in a row is a reason to replace the women's head basketball coach. last, with all the good athletes in so cal, SDSU should dominate the mwc in every sport and make the ncaa tournament every season in every sport.

easy Yahoo Sports in a Monday overactions article point no. 5. Calling the AZTECS legit is one thing but the AZTECS still have to play 14 more conference games against the conferences top teams. right now the focus is beating Wyoming. Take it one game at a time and the AZTECS could make an undefeated regular season happen. There would absolute bedlam at the madhouse on the mesa. Students would have to get in line overnight just to get tickets for the remaining home games just like they did for byu in 2011. It is time for the athletic dept. to give updates on ticket availability for remaining home games which will all be sold out. Then give updates for how many tickets have been sold for the conference tournament. I can imagine 6,000+ AZTECS fans (most ever) taking over VIEJAS EAST.

the mwc website has an incorrect record for our SDSU AZTECS. Under men's basketball standings, it states the AZTECS are 5-0 and 16-0 overall. the actual record is 4-0 and 15-0.

yes and I hope to be off from work that weekend for game no. 21. also, no I-15 freeway closed because of snow through cajon pass and from baker to primm. There should be over 2,000+ AZTECS FANS there especially if the AZTECS are still undefeated. It is a UNLV premium top price home game.

I see at least 7 mwc schools playing in post season tournament games this year. SDSU, Unlv, Nevada-Reno, Boise State, Utah State, New Mexico and Colorado State. That is how competitive the mwc has become.

now that this game is over I can talk about the error on the mwc website, it said the AZTECS were 4-0 and 15-0 before the utah state game. that is the Aztecs record after the utah state game. Did anyone else catch that mistake? Also, unlv and nevada-reno are also unbeaten in conference play.

the number one factor for championship game's lack of attendance is that the location is not known until one week before that game. the second reason might be that the schools men's basketball team may have a home game that day. SDSU had that problem until they moved the hoops against usd at Petco to sunday afternoon in 2015. the third reason is fans working that day or the night before. that is what makes the hoops tournament so good the location is set that fans can plan.

the St. Mary's win was in 2009 so it just missed the 2010s. what I remember was that St. Mary's Patrick Mills was good. I will always remember the fans storming the court and filling up the whole court to the song "New York, New York'. As far as losses go the doubleheader loss to Utah for men and women's hoops title games in 2009 will stick with me as I was in the Thomas@Mack center. The Kansas st. game was moved to the jcp because the Lady AZTECS hosted the ncaa tournament that year beating DePaul and losing to Stanford.
