Can those that regularly go to Vegas for the Tournament please give suggestions on Tickets? Is it worth it buying the All-Sessions? Is it easy to sit near the Aztec group if you buy individual session tickets? After wins, do fans go to a particular place to party? Thanks.

I've always gotten the all-session passes from the Aztec ticket office, but a lot of people go for the game-by-game approach, often snagging tickets from fans of the losing team after each session at discounted prices. A lot depends on how you value the balance between simplicity and cost. If you go to the tournament, I would recommend that you don't miss the Aztecarita tailgate before our sessions, between sessions, and after sessions. Richard and Mark (azdick and azson) mix up a batch of killer 'ritas and there are always a big contingent of fellow Aztec fans to hang with. ETA: I'm enjoying an Aztecarita in my avatar pic.

If you want to go to all the games, even if we were to lose early, all-session is easier. If you’re only going to Aztec games, might be worth shopping for individual tickets. If you want to sit in the lower bowl, much easier to buy all-session. May end up being 50 or 100 bucks more expensive, but I’ve been almost every year for a decade plus, and have never seen someone selling tickets on their way out (it happens, but it isn’t a free for all like some make it seem). If you are fine sitting in upper bowl, tickets will be available at any time and you can sit wherever, including by The Show/students that make their way up. If you want to be near the Aztec section in the lower bowl, definitely buy all-session. I’d imagine our allotment will run out this year, but I have had success buying from other schools. Just call, be nice, and they can usually hook it up. This year, Boise, Fresno, Nevada, Wyoming will be nearest us. themw.com/documents/2019/8/16//Ticket_Brochure.pdf?id=4871

the all session pass includes all men's and women's games (20 games). women's games are general admission seating. Individual sessions for men are $50 each. All sessions means one will be seated with AZTECS FANS and cost $250 each ticket plus one gets a free program with coupon. Unless one wants to be in the upper level, it would be advised to buy all sessions from SDSU and increased chance to be in the lower level (sections 112-114) and be seated with AZTEC FANS. I predict the lower level will sell out this year. I bought the all session this year. Buying individual session ticket(s) being able to sit with AZTEC FANS will depend on other teams fans showing up and the ushers. The hard rock was a place but that it closing for renovation in feb. 2020.

If you wind up going for tickets in other school's sections, the Wyoming fans tend to be among the most genial of the bunch which can affect your enjoyment of the games.

Hard Rock has often been the Aztec "official fan hotel", and if there's renovation going on, that might also affect the parking structure which has been a great option to park and walk to the arena (it's been free parking, I fear that may change after the renovation).

The Aztec section this year are horrible seats. And, I don’t want all of those women’s game tickets. I have only bought the ticket package one year...the 34-3 year. I have never had trouble buying tickets one at a time and moving around the arena where I want to sit.

Disclosure: I don't care about the women's games and haven't attended more than a couple in total. As to the men, I've done it both ways and the answer to the question posed is mainly when one intends to get to town as well as which schools will still be in the tournament beyond the first day.
To their credit, Wyoming fans have turned out in droves each of the 10 or so times I've been to the tournament and even if their team loses, a number have continued to attend games. The same is true of UNM. Nevada turnout really wasn't that impressive the last two years considering the circumstances and fans of Boise, CSU and AF have been historically sparse. Utah State has represented well and should be expected to do so again this year and I think they're the team to watch for regarding parking lot tickets. If Queta is healthy, the Aggies could win the tournament. However, if should reinjure his shoulder or whatever his problem has been, they could be one and out. Considering what a large percentage of USU fans are non-gambling Mormons who drive down from Logan, I would guess that if USU is one and out, a few thousand Aggies will jump in their car the next morning and head home after selling their tournament tickets to scalpers to make a large number of lower bowl seats available through scalpers. Aztecs adamant about sitting among Aztecs should shy away from that but for those like me who don't mind hobnobbing with fans of other schools, buying such seats is a viable option.

My favorite time of the year ... days after complaining how we don't have the money in our athletic department coffers to afford top (assistant) coaches and such, now our fans chime in on how to save a couple bucks on lodging, parking and tickets while vacationing to root on our team.
Buy the passes from SDSU. You not only support our university, but it's a stress-free excercise and part of the fun is sitting next to your fellow fans for up to three days and getting to make new friends you may not run into during your Viejas routine (especially of you're the aforementioned "buy a GA seat and find a better open seat to sit in" type).
Actually attend a SDSU women's game or two. The team has a history of playing better in the tournament than their record indicates and it gets you out of the casino for a couple hours.

the key thing is to be in Las Vegas, in person, to watch our AZTECS try to win another conference tournament title. Also, it is smart financially to do vacation on a budget and I will not drive during the tournament as I will be drinking aztecaritas on AZTECS men's game days, beer on other days. There are a group of AZTECS FANS who park in trolley lots and take the trolley $5 to men's home games rather than pay $15 to park and fight traffic on campus. I have attended every tournament since 2003, final only in 2018. I choose low priced hotels, no parking fees, and the all session tournament tickets.

I go every year with a bunch of Aztecs. Agree with 99% of the info posted above. Critical post was that the HARD ROCK hotel will be closed (best hotel for walking to and from T&M), so look for alternatives early. MGC rotates the ticket sections every year so sometimes we get good , sometimes we get bad. That should factor into your decision to buy an all game pass. I assume they will allocate tix by priority # , mine is fairly high but we always buy scalper tix so if you want to use my priority PM me. It's a personal choice , I prefer to get better seats and risk sitting next to a lowblow. There is some stress with walking up to the arena without a ticket and buying from a scalper (this would freak my GF out but it's a guys trip) in 20 years + , I have never had a problem getting tickets in front of the arena. Bonus - this year the only team that is playing for anything besides us is REno and they can't afford the bus ticket. If NM gets hot and has a shot they will eat up lots of tix. If UNLV gets hot, you should buy a lottery ticket and check for locusts.

There are always good tickets available from scalpers in the parking lot. They are getting really cheap tickets from losing fans as they leave. Due to that, the mark-up on the tickets is usually low. In fact, if you say no to their initial price, they usually ask you what you’re willing to pay and then they’re yours.
The other thing that keeps the scalped prices down is that this tournament never sells out like it used to when UNLV was good. You can always buy upper bowl tickets at the box office if you have to. But trust me, you won’t need to.

the other big reason for ticket availability now is that byu left the conference. I estimated 7,000+ byu fans at that SDSU AZTECS historic 2011 championship game win as well as the semi-finals and finals selling out (18,000+) with SDSU, unlv, new mexico and byu. That was the largest basketball crowds I have personally attended. before byu left, the lower level would be sold out meaning AZTECS FANS had to buy the all session pass to be in the lower level.

For newbies curious about lodging: Azdick and I discovered a great non-smoking/non-casino location (I would get sick post-tourney every year due to the cigarette smoke) walking distance from the T&M: www.theplatinumhotel.com/Two casinos right next to the platinum so easy to go donate your parlay $$$ to Vegas.

Highly recommend the Platinum. Great suite accommodations; full kitchens; could sleep up to six if you want. Nice bar and restaurant to boot. NON_SMOKING!!!
