Interesting. This very well could be. He may not have known the woman was using Clostebol.

So much for the playoffs. Not true at all. They still have a good hitting lineup and solid pitching. Kim is a better fielder than Tatis and has hit almost .300 since early July. That's not what Tatis could have potentially done but who knows how long that shoulder would have stayed in place or if his wrist would have handled hitting for a while.

This very well could be. He may not have known the woman was using Clostebol. It's not a treatment that's approved in the US for dermatological problems. So even if he was just using it for ringworm - as he claims - it's still sketchy. Of course, he's from a Latin American country where it is OK to use, and it's conceivable that it's a "go-to" treatment there. Seems obvious that he self-medicated. Lesson to be learned, there's a team physician for a good reason.

Agree… if they hadn't picked up Soto and the others, though, this would be disastrous. It'd be better if he were in there, but not the same better it would've been if they hadn't made the pickups two weeks ago.

Smartest thing he's done this season…
Besides the $3M ish he forfeits as a result of the suspension, I wonder if he'll lose other endorsements…

Cmon guys you are all graduates of one of the best Universities in the USA, San Diego State University. Use your brains here. Padres "luck" appears once every 1/4 century. This year we are blessed with some bonus pieces that may help us improve on that. (Soto, Hader) but sadly Soto isn't there yet and Crismatt and Hader are not doing their jobs. Manny can only do so much and Jake is not hitting the Crone Zone like he can do. If Soto and Manny weren't hot, we are not. We will not have 6 and 7 runs innings that many times. Nando was our hope and rather than helping he gave us the finger. Prellar must be losing his patience but don't know what he can do. These guys are what they are. Sometimes good, others no better than Lake Elsinore players. We are not going to ever beat the Doyyers playing like this.

Like junior says, we'll be 32 games into 2023 before the suspension is up. Hopefully they won't trade him for Eric Hosmer by then. 32 games into next season, minus any playoff games the Padres might play this year as per ESPN. I'm not 100% sure that's accurate, though.

These things always feel like allegations … In a different world, there'd be all kinds of remedies and appeals. His already went nowhere. Of course, this is all part of the player/MLB contract, so the players may not always get what they bargained for. He used some ringworm meds, apparently. So it's kind of a cheap shot - if true… The MLB wouldn’t do this without incontrovertible proof.

The relationship between player and team is really strained. AJ Preller's statement was very firm. Probably making matters worse that Fernando lied in his statement - He tested positive for clostebol, an anabolic steroid. He blamed it on a ringworm treatment...but the drug that treats ringworm is clobetasol.

Doesn't matter at this point,
He cheated. He cheated himself, baseball players everywhere, his team, his fans, and his family. He tainted whatever his legacy may be - forever.
He's no Ken Caminiti, but it could take all 12 of the years left on his contract to shake the tag he picked up today. Unfortunately, as of today, it seems somewhat unlikely that he'll be spending all 12 years here in San Diego.
Once a trust is broken, it's often unrecoverable. Dark days ahead for Tatis, and a dark day for the Padres organization.
Lotta social media psots questioning AJP's judgment in signing Tatis to such a large and long contract - not only when it first happened but especially now that this event has put a very sour cherry on top of a quickly melting sundae.

And it's just another year in San Diego sports.
It's always something. There's always a reason why we don't get to enjoy a major league championship in this city. The Chargers were exhausted from a hot weather, overtime game in Miami when they had to go in to 20 below Cincinnati for the AFC Championship game.
The Padres went up against a buzzsaw in the Detroit Tigers. The Chargers had to face a 49ers team that CHEATED on the salary cap to put together an unstoppable roster. The Padres went up against an even more powerful buzzsaw in the 1998 New York Yankees.
Now Tatis does something stupid and whatever World Series hopes we had were realistically dashed. He was the last piece of the puzzle that would have made us competitive with the Dodgers, Mets, and Braves.
It's always something...

It definitely matters in the context of the relationship with the team and the player and in the larger sense of going after him for money, if they choose to. I'm pretty sure the has consulted a lawyer.

It's as if San Diegans can't be blessed with this great weather and city, AND have a Championship team in any fashion. It never ends. Ugh.

Best comment I've seen tonight … and there've been many!
The PEDres can't seem to catch a break. I'm beginning to think that PEDco might be cursed...
