i did not hear he went back into the game after being removed. didnt know that was possible. i only heard 40 pitches. which is not alot. he throws that many in warmups. Probably best to at least look at a box score before sending out alarm bells - It's allowed in spring for the exact purpose of trying to get pitch counts up. Regardless, if he threw 40 pitches in three innings, he wasn't going to go five or six. thank you for "Schooling Me." i dont have all day to look at box scores and watch every second of every game. i've got a job unrelated to sports. of course he wasnt going to go five or six innings or throw more than 60 pitches. i hope you get the opportunity to shove it in my face when he exceeds his contractual and trade expectations.

Get used to those responses if you choose to interact with Ryan, going forward, unfortunately.

I didn't notice anything snarky from Survali to warrant that type of response, or did I miss something?

Wasn't attempting to shove anything - Just that the only plan was for him to go three innings at most. He's going to have to be built up slowly with all the rust. Sounds like a Gore/Clevinger split could be coming early. Hopefully the command comes around quickly.

I believe him when he says he'll be ready - just was hoping to hear or read something about how he felt today (the day after). He's gotta play it safe. Can't afford to pop that tendon again. He's already pitching on borrowed time. Kinda like a cat with 9 lives, but I think he's only got the two. Next time, g'bye and thanks for playing. Sure hope it doesn't ever come to that - so I'm quite ok with a 40-50 pitch limitation for as long as its needed.

I’m not expecting Clev to start the season in the rotation. Or, maybe he’s the opener in a bullpen game?
Mike is 31 now and has had more injuries than just double TJ. It’s fair to think his peak is behind him.
Still, 31 is young enough and if he can stay healthy, working with Niebla again can only help him.

They are going to slot him in between Musgrove and Darvish in a piggyback scenario, maybe with Gore.

Yeah, hopefully he's not used goods at this point, due to his injuries. We really need him.

Back on the IL.
Hopefully, it's just a a little soreness that gives them the opportunity to make a roster move to free up some time for the other starters while he gets accustomed to a regular starter's routine again.

Back from the IL, a little rust to shake off today. Didn't have great stuff coming out of the gate, but managed to dial it up as time went by. Threw a few 95+ MPH fastballs in his last inning. If he can get a few games under his belt and get a rhythm going - without getting hurt again - he will be a big help come August and September.
