Not at all a done deal. Yanks still very much in the mix.
Indians covet Outfielders.

Bob Nightengale @bnightengale Cleveland is definitely trading Mike Clevinger by tomorrow's deadline, but it's still unknown where he's going, with teams still upping their offers. They have requested players physicals from at least two teams, but NOT the #Padres, who appear no longer to be the favorites.

A young in his prime SP with two years of club control after this one. Of course the asking price is going to be high. www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/08/latest-on-mike-clevinger.html“ The Padres don’t seem to be willing to move either Trent Grisham or Jake Cronenworth, MLB Network’s Jon Heyman (Twitter links), which could be a roadblock in a potential Clevinger trade. Also from Heyman, the Yankees don’t appear to be the mystery team in the Clevinger hunt, as there is “no belief anything’s close” between New York and Cleveland. The White Sox and Dodgers were also rumored to be interested in Clevinger earlier today, and with this much buzz around the right-hander, one wonders how close Cleveland might get to someone meeting its reportedly “ridiculous” asking price in any Clevinger trade.”

Was going to take Grisham or Cronenworth, plus a top 10 prospect. Per many sources. Would you be willing to give that up?

Says the guy who was basically reporting it was going down. I'll choose to believe the writers and insiders I follow on twitter (I've long weeded out the ones I trust and don't), and you can follow yours. Sounds like they were a bit off last night, eh? Mike Clevinger is a young, controllable stud starting pitcher. A "2" starter borderline ace under control through 2022. The Indians are very much in their right to ask for a high ransom. I am reading from good sources that the ask was Grisham OR Cronenworth, and at least one uber prospect. I may be wrong tho.....you know "twitter"

Padres have officially acquired Clevinger. They must have upped their ante from last night.
I am curious to see who is going to CLE?

Bob Nightengale saying "Naylor, Quantrill, 'and more'."
If those two are the headlines, as an Indians fan I am disgusted and Ryan schooled me in plain view on Aztecmesa. LMAO.
Ewwww if THOSE two are the top guys. Let's see.......

Longtime Tribe fan. Always been a big fan of Antonetti and CHernoff, but not loving this.
A dime a dozen OF (Naylor), a "good" reliever who can spot start, and a light hitting SS prospect ranked #94 by Baseball Prospectus.
Color me unimpressed.

Greg Allen (SDSU) headed back to San Diego. Indians involving him in the deal.
Hedges also going to Cleveland.

Build the Preller statue. Let him win a division title first. One. I know the bar is low, but.... Hard to declare trade "winners" until we have hindsight, down the road. I LOVE the Clevinger deal for SDP tho, I really do. Wow.

Just saw CLE was about to snag Cantillo in this package. Makes more sense now.
Really, nobody develops young starting pitching as an org like they do. Cliff Lee, Kluber, Plesac, and Clevinger were not heralded prospects when CLE acquired them, at all.
LOVE getting Cantillo here. Now I feel better......

I LOVE the Clevinger deal for SDP tho, I really do. Wow. They don't care about divisiom titles. Tbis is a World Series move. Amd they have 2 roster spots still to fill.
