I'm not sure how many of you continued to watch CBS after the Furman beat down, but Clark Kellogg shared an interesting stat. He said this was the third straight game SDSU has held their opponent to the lowest point total of the season. That's very impressive, considering it was at the tail end of the season (30+ games played) and all of those teams played well enough to get into the NCAA tournament. I then decided to look at the 4th team and it was San Jose State, who we held to an impressive 49 points (they only had one game against Nevada with less points). Before that, we gave up 61 points against CSU (one of their lowest scoring games) and before that we only gave up 50 points to Wyoming (one of their worst scoring games). In short, this team's defense is currently "firing on all cylinders." I also watched the Maryland vs. Alabama game and thought Maryland played reasonably well on defense, only allowing 73 points scored. But their offense was horrendous, as others noted - they missed many easy buckets and layups. Maryland ended the game with just 51 points, shooting 19-54 in FG, 1-8 3FG and a hideous 12-21 in FT. For this season, SDSU's defense has averaged 63 points per game (closer to 62 points if you exclude the two OT games). Alabama's offense is currently ranked #5 in the nation, so we clearly cannot assume we hold them to our 62/63 point average. But let's assume SDSU's defense performs slightly better than Maryland, holding Alabama to 70 points or less. With this assumption, I reviewed Alabama's schedule to see how they previously performed. In short, their current record is 31-5 but they are only 2-4 when held to 70 points or less: Nov 15, W, 65-55 So. Alabama Nov 25, L, 67-82 UConn Jan 25, W, 66-63 Miss St. Jan 28, L, 69-93 Oklahoma Feb 15, L 59-68 Tennessee Mar 4, L 61-67 TX A&M Their 5th loss was against Gonzaga. Alabama was able to score 90 points, but gave up 100 points to the Bulldogs. In regards to the close win against Miss St., their defense is comparable to SDSU, but they are only ranked #313 in offense (SDSU is #174). In my opinion, I think we have a pretty solid chance of defeating Alabama if our stellar defense continues and we play reasonably well on offense. Thank you for changing your original post.

Check the Alabama schedule for Feb. 15, they played and lost at Tennessee 59-68 and not Texas. The 59 points was their lowest offensive performance of this season.

The AZTECS go for their 30th win against Alabama Friday in the most important game in SDSU history. Yes, I respect Alabama but they are beatable.

SDSU got called for multiple offensive fouls during the 2022-2023 season. The Wichita Eagle webpage stated (Kevin) McCullar fouled out on the play (by Ricky Council) that easily could have been called a charge. The score was 67-67 and 23 seconds left at the time of the play. Council made the first foul shot but missed the second with an Arkansas rebound and 2 made foul shots to up the lead to 70-67.

SDSU'S spring break is from March 27 to March 31 this year. Good news is the final four is the Saturday after the spring break recess. Should SDSU make the Final Four finals, Classes should be canceled on that Monday.

An Arkansas player lowers his shoulder into the Kansas defender with the score 67-all. The Kansas player was the one given the foul that was due to bad refs. That should have been called an offensive foul on Arkansas. Kansas lost by 1 point.

Great win. As the saying goes "Step our game up". Finally, gaining national respect from a media who thought College of Charleston would win. Furman didn't know what hit them. Now beat Alabama or Maryland.

I call UNLV overrated because their strength of schedule was above 200.

The Aztecs ticket window refused my cash and I was denied admission because of them only accepting credit cards on gameday. I left. Shame on them for not placing that critical information on the goaztecs.com webpage. It is time for Terry to be removed as head coach. Losing to UNLV is one thing but losing to Irvine is inexcusable.

I do something similar except when an opponent has the same color as the AZTECS. Since San Jose is part blue, the blue short pants were changed.

When a team played a horrible non conference and conference schedule as UNLV women did. It was no surprise to me that the UNLV women lost to Michigan. UNLV had no answer to Michigan's inside and outside game. The term OVERRATED applies.

Jeers for refusing to open early for the Little Miss Brewing Bar on Woodside Ave. in Lakeside. They stuck with opening at 2 p.m.

Similar to the screen that Carwell set (can't remember the opponent) and the one against the point guard for Fresno State in the MW women's championship game.

In the other MWC game, at halftime, it is Utah Valley leading the lowbos 46-33 in the Pit.

FYI, the women's basketball attendance record is 5,320 fans that attended the Jan. 29, 2020 game that SDSU beat New Mexico 75-74 in a game where Ramos scored 32 points and made 16 of 16 free throws. That 2020 game was a promotion for school field trip day. That game broke the record of over 5,000 for the game against Connecticut. It would to be great to break the attendance record Friday night. Tickets for Friday start at $7 for general admission, $10 for reserved and $25 for courtside. That is very reasonable. Be there. I plan to attend.

Going on the court was a surprise (fans banned from celebrating on court had Aztecs won in 2022) but getting a piece of the purple confetti was great.
