Do they have to go through some approval process with the state?

UNLV is ranked way better than Boise, and slightly behind Fresno in academics. But, they have both a Medical and a Law School. Seems UNLV has more upside for growth in Athletics and Academics than both Boise and Fresno. Not to mention location, facilities, and Las Vegas!

Vegas is already a sports/entertainment destination w/o UNLV. Also, they are horrid in football for almost 4 decades.

Maybe they didn't have the cash to buyout of the conference and believe that the mtn west comish will take them to the next level? This conference has alot of interesting school presidents?

Multiple phase entry… they’re next. Gotta wait to see what the two mystery additions to get to 8 teams will be first.

I think they are better than Boise and Fresno. Yes. I think it is because the PAC wants to add some ACC schools to expand into the Texas and the Central Time Zone. UNLV should be in, but perhaps they don't get in initially. Remember, ESPN values Boise and Fresno so much that they wanted them, along with SDSU, to be added to the PAC when USCLA left.

I have to think they are better academically that Fresno. You cannot go by USN&WR for academics, they take into consideration a lot more than just academics. Still, UNLV is not a great undergraduate school but they are the flagship university for the State of Nevada and do have both medical and law schools.

Do they have to go through some approval process with the state? Its Vegas, baby. Whatever happens there, stays there. I can't see an issue with UNLV leaving UNR behind. They did that when they left for the WAC in 1996.

Yeah, I'd swap UNLV for Fresno. I'd also swap anybody for Fresno.

UNLV is superior in every way to Fresno St. Plus everyone wants to do a road trip to Vegas, nobody wants to go to Fresno for any reason. I dont get it

If taking a trip to Vegas is the total decision to expand then we are doing it for the wrong reasons. We can always rent facilities around LV for the PAC12 tournament. There is Tmobile and MGM available. There is a new arena in Henderson. I think moving forward our head quaters should be Las Vegas.
After hearing today's press conference I get a sense we will be getting the boot sooner rather than later. I envision us being in the is conference in August of 2025. There will be some negotiations and strategies involved. OSU and WSU got what they needed which is fb games for next year. So pretty much they are set with their scheduling after Gloria N decided to play hard ball. Probably speed up the process for everyone.

The PAC 2 didn’t want to use anymore cash right now… UNLV was just behind FSU… to the point above TV likes FSU better The PAC 6 is hoping that the move today will destabilize the MWC and that, as noted earlier, AFA leaves for the AAC… They are hoping that with 5 of 11 gone something else would happen and the exit fees go away for the four as well as someone like UNLV coming in later…

Also UNLV doesn't travel very well with either basketball or football even when they have been successful. Ultimately we just need to take care of numero uno. And that San Diego State.

They're our real rivals...maybe not historically, but in the MWC era...Hopefully they get in...Always thought the PAC2 needed to be 8 min. UNLV is superior in every way to Fresno St. Plus everyone wants to do a road trip to Vegas, nobody wants to go to Fresno for any reason. I dont get it
