Thats ridiculous. They can't shoot. It has nothing to do with all those things you listed. Sorry, rebounding takes desire. Focus is not standing around under boards without boxing out and watching them get crucial offensive rebound after rebound. Low basketball IQ is the idiotic passes we saw over and over again. Does it even matter if they can't make a shot? They can't shoot bro. 1 FG over the last 6 minutes. NM could have won this game by just making FTs. |

NM could have won this game by just making FTs. True, we couldnt make a shot but we also couldnt stop Mashburn and Houze. Can Dutcher please find us another Brandon Heath, Thames,or Flynn again? I miss having a guard who can score 20. |

So frustrating, New Mexico over the back all game long without calls, we also got no calls down the stretch.
Look for New Mexico to lose in the first round of the tournament and the coaches turd kid to cry.

As much as I hate to admit it - New Mexico was the better team today....
Neither Trammell nor Butler played well offensively in the 2nd half....MIA!
Both teams gutted it out in what's usually a super sloppy game.(MWC championship 3 games in 3 nights)
Simply put, their guards played better than our guards - plus wave after wave of big men thrown at Ledee...
New Mexico 4 wins in 4 nights is impressive
Silver lining to all of this....hopefully the loss puts a chip on our shoulder and we appear healthy....

Give NM credit. They took our best punch, Toppin dominating and we hit our patented scoreless drought. The Lobos earned this. They did. The turning point IMO was when we were up 4 you had 3-4 possessions where DT, Lamont & Reese all made terrible decisions whether passing or shooting, never even looked at Ledee. Meanwhile our guys on defense played pretty well but when they shot we stood around flat footed, did a lazy/terrible job boxing out and let them get offensive rebound after another giving up second chance points. House is terrific but an ass. He’s worth than Lucas. For me it was the missed three by Lamont that would have made it a 5 point game and then the no call when he drove to the basket. Instead, House gets sent to the FT line where he ties it and then LeDee kind of bails out NM by taking and missing a fadeaway jumper 16 feet out. It was all NM after that. |

We need at least that high of a one to get a good 1st-Round match-up. All year all the experts have been saying how great the MWC is and wouldn't it be great to get in MM and see that so many of the storied P-5 teams in there aren't any better and many of them worse than the top 7 teams in our league? If we get 5 teams in, I'd love to see at least a 3-2 opening round or maybe even 4-1. I know that doesn't seem possible with our conference history but I'm hoping maybe this year our league really is that good. i could see New Mexico winning at least one or two games. The only other team I have higher hopes for is Nevada because of their big and talented guards. I think Utah State gets bounced and then their coach leaves. They've been lucky all year and playing in Logan has helped their schedule. Boise State has been in 9 MM opening Round games and are a stellar 0-9. I don't have much faith in this year's team either. |
