I will never understand what happened to Butler and Parrish this year.
They have shot the 3 like crep all year.
Tramell balls out but it's clear his height is an issue.

Game over, bad game plan by Dutcher, you let their guards drive at will. Yes we didnt do a good job of rebounding, which is big, but we let House and Mashburn torch us with switching.

Utter and complete lack of focus, desire and basketball IQ. Thats ridiculous. They can't shoot. It has nothing to do with all those things you listed. and when are the aztec coaches going to do anything about the lack of shot making. add to the flop, no ability to make the clutch shot , clutch defensive play or clutch rebound. |

Focus is not standing around under boards without boxing out and watching them get crucial offensive rebound after rebound. Low basketball IQ is the idiotic passes we saw over and over again. |

Give NM credit. They took our best punch, Toppin dominating and we hit our patented scoreless drought. The Lobos earned this. They did. The turning point IMO was when we were up 4 you had 3-4 possessions where DT, Lamont & Reese all made terrible decisions whether passing or shooting, never even looked at Ledee. Meanwhile our guys on defense played pretty well but when they shot we stood around flat footed, did a lazy/terrible job boxing out and let them get offensive rebound after another giving up second chance points. House is terrific but an ass. He’s worth than Lucas. |

At the end of the game we stopped posting up LeDee. They were in trouble. We couldn’t rebound and they did. Pal kept coming off Toppin to swing wildly for a block he had no chance at to give up a board and an easy basket.
We made another MW Championship game but I just wish we had a better winning percentage in them.

Played with fire too long and got burned. Hopefully we will do well in the tournament and then recruit some shooter/scorers. Given what we had this year we did pretty well, but no really good team can have major scoring droughts on a nightly basis and expect to win championships.

New Mexico just played better in the last 3 minutes of the game. That's it. It was a great game, the 2nd half was amazing, we just went cold at the worst possible time. It happens. It sucks, but it happens.
This game could end up helping us in THE tournament. This experience gives us a great lesson learned (I hope we will have learned from it), and something to remember. We had this game with a 4 point lead late. If we correct what we did wrong down the stretch we could see this team in the Sweet 16. If not, we'll get bounced in the round of 32.

So what happened to NM running out of gas? Media hype, ive never seen the statistics or facts to back up "teams are soooo tired after 4 games", but it gets people to believe BS. Its all they can do to drum up "interest" and more clicks |
