There has been a lot more smoke recently by online insiders about a possible PAC-American conference merger.

There has been a lot more smoke recently by online insiders about a possible PAC-American conference merger. This guy knows nothing. He takes information from other sources and then repackages it as his own “inside info”.

should the PAC let Luck Senior take care of most of the details
By the way isn't San Diego one of the largest Cities for a University - with a decent TV market and an area that does not have to compete with an NFL team

If this was to happen, does that mean B12 will invite SDSU and UCONN?

so is this a reforming of the PAC or a "Merger / agreement " with the AAC
The Money is not going to be there IF there are schools in the East Coast -
think the PAC could add some schools from Texas areas But the travel for the minor sports could be costly if it includes schools in the East areas

Make no mistake they have loud voices and will have student support, so they're in a real bind.

If the four remaining Pac 12 teams are putting any faith in Kliavkoff then they are beyond help and beyond hope. Most logical post I have read in this thread.

One could argue that Oliver Luck is sortof the de facto PAC-4 Commissioner right now...

One could argue that Oliver Luck is sortof the de facto PAC-4 Commissioner right now... Agree, except for the "sortof" part.

If this was to happen, does that mean B12 will invite SDSU and UCONN? The BIG12 is a strategic move. It would keep UConn out of any ACC expansion and SDSU out of any PAC 4 conference creations. I still think the BIG12 is playing us. Obviously, we would take the invitation but I think its a bluff.

But... what has Yormark talked about / floated / etc. that the Big-"12" hasn't actually done at this point?

ALSO: remember that "Big12 Mexico" is a thing. Quite a prominent thing. Hell, if someone would like to nudge a little 'reminder' to JW & Pres DLT about this angle... adding SDSU as a prominent player in the Big12 Mexico initiative would be a MASSIVE win-win for the Big12 & SDSU (both in athletics & academics, where SDSU already has strong ties across the border that the Big12 might really want to benefit from on the media/sports angle). big12sports.com/news/2023/6/7/big-12-conference-to-establish-big-12-mexico.aspx

I am sure if SDSU had a Big 12 invite they would jump at the chance now.

Rick Neunheisel made a great point this morning. He suggested the Pac4 should merge and acquire the entire MWC and maintain the brand Pac12. He suggest the Pac12 would keep the CFP qualifier, negotiate a media deal more than what each MWC school currently is getting and if 9 MWC schools agreed the exit fees would go away immediately and they could start play in 2024.
He also suggested if the CFP council eliminated the Pac12 qualifier the Pac12 would have a great lawsuit for Collusion against the B12, B10 and CFP. The argument is the B10 and B12 effectively colluded against the Pac12 by providing financial incentives to dissolve the Pac12 and eliminate their CFP qualification.

In a sane and just universe this would be a reasonable course of action. Maybe in a parallel universe this will happen, I just don't see it happening in the current quagmire that is college football 2023...

Neuheisal has a good point about the litigation risk.

Interesting thing would be that the B12 could come in and take sdsu away from the MWC and really put a hurt to this idea.
