Is America a Racist Nation?

This seems to be the hot right-wing topic to be outraged about, yet no conservative that I know know what it really is. They seem to feel telling the truth about American history and how it affects the present somehow demonizes whites, makes them feel guilty and hate the white race. That it tells the truth about slavery/racism being America's first sin. Right-wing conservative fear their whitewashed version American narrative will be exposed to young white kids and it will tear eventually tear down white supremacism. All this chimp'n out is their reaction to young and middle-class suburban whites marching with Black Lives Matter...so I did some research:

I agree that Critical Race Theory is an "academic concept", for only academia can a Mercator Projection Map with Greenwich, England being on the Prime Meridian be an example of American White Supremacy/Racism. The absurd nature of CRT goes on from there.

And another problem of CRT is its assigning guilt for oppression/racism by skin color all while knowing that any given individual of that skin color may be entirely innocent of any racism. Do you think that requiring English to be understood/spoken by airline pilots on international travel is an example of White Supremacy/Racism? If so, that would indicate complete and total Bozodom. If not, then you understand why Greenwich, England, is associated with the Prime Meridian and that it has nothing to do with White Supremacy/Racism.

Do you not think that a sense of east and west (or whatever term was then used) has been with us since the dawn of man? If not, that would also indicate complete and total Bozodom.

Its viewer also gets an immediate indication of the relative time of day anywhere on the map. With the Mercator translation, Jeff Bezos can sail his mega yacht from the DC area to St. Barts using a simple constant course as derived from the Mercator Projection map at the outset. It may not be the shortest route but it gets him there with little need for complex steering adjustments. Even the Woke company Google uses a Mercator technique when looking at the global view. Try it.

And as far as relative sizes of land masses, I guarantee you that Patagonia is represented as overly large as its similarly placed land masses in the northern hemisphere. If you are brave enough...go over to FOXnews.com and look at any report where minorities or race issues are the topic. Since they allow comments, you can get a good taste of the racist redneck world. ie: "arming up for the 13%", "Michele Obama opens bananas with her feet" etc. Two things are amazing to me, the fact people like this still exist and that FOXnews actually leaves that $#!+ up there! America may not be a racist country, but the FOX crowd def. is!!

What we need is an educational system that encourages our youth to look at every fellow citizen as an individual. Period. Of course there is still discrimination and hatred in this, and every, society. But the worst thing we could do is to tell young people that one's skin color and facial features are the most important aspects of their humanity.

What I find interesting is that some folks believe that this society is bedeviled by white supremacy. At the same time, they also believe that it can only to saved by the actions of white politicians. No one, no matter what one's situation in life, should count on the government to rescue them. Yes, government has a role to play. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a prime example. (As an aside, if might be well to remember that it was Republican votes in Congress that defeated the outright racist Democrats who opposed that legislation.)

My advice to a young person, of whatever ethnic group, is to concentrate on those things under your control. The government can only do so much. No matter how much the societal deck is stacked against a person, you must make decisions that will make your success more likely. The many African Americans (not to mention other minorities) who have succeeded attest to that.

And, I might add, there are plenty of "white" people who have not ended up in a good place. It's a tough world. Reject anyone who claims that we are as bad a society as was the case in 1950. As a person who was going to grade school in the 1940s, I can assure you that America in 2021 is a far better place than it was in 1950. Still imperfect, but generally on the right track.

What I find interesting is that some folks believe that this society is bedeviled by white supremacy. At the same time, they also believe that it can only to saved by the actions of white politicians. No one, no matter what one's situation in life, should count on the government to rescue them. Yes, government has a role to play. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a prime example. My advice to a young person, of whatever ethnic group, is to concentrate on those things under your control. The government can only do so much. No matter how much the societal deck is stacked against a person, you must make decisions that will make your success more likely. The many African Americans (not to mention other minorities) who have succeeded attest to that.

And, I might add, there are plenty of "white" people who have not ended up in a good place. It's a tough world. I always hear right-wingers attempt to absolve whites of their transgressions...did white individuals screw over individual DOSIA or did a group of whites do so to a group of them? The worst thing we do is lie to young people about how the color of their skin benefits or detracts their humanity. How in America it is the most important indicator of social and economic outcomes.

First it depends on the party and the white politician. The conservative Republican party and its racist bigoted stakeholders of white supremacy surely go out their way to stifle any DOSIA advancement in America. Democrat white politicians not so much. As far as government not able to rescue...slaves were not free due to the good graces of racist bigoted whites...whites as a whole did nothing...the federal government has overridden the racist bigot in slavery, education, housing, employment, etc. So, it is disingenuous to diminish the government role...for what would DOSIA have without its actions? Lastly, stop with the "it was the Republicans that saved Black people" crap. White racist bigots opposed civil rights. Today racist bigots oppose civil rights. If racist bigots move from one house to another, they still racist bigots...and those who moved into their old home are not. Today the Republican party...The Grand Ole Plantation...is the home of white supremacist and racist bigots...that is not even a debate.

What's under a young person's control when they don't control anything? How can a group possibly compete with those in society with at least a 368 year head start? How can they compete for jobs, wealth, education, homes, business, etc. when they are at the starting line and the white competition is is three and a half laps into the race...even the most sorry, incompetent and least athletic of whites have insurmountable advantage over the best DOSIA Olympic athlete...yes...every once in a while an extraordinary DOSIA like Usan Bolt will win...but that's the exception...which is why racist bigots want to keep this status quo...to keep the race rigged.

As a white person who was going to grade school with no Black person in sight in the 1940s, I can assure you that in 2021 is a far better place that it was in 1950. There is one Black student in my old grade. Still imperfect, but that's progress...generally on the right track. Reject anyone who claims that we are NOT as bad a society as was the case in 1950. FIFY What's changed? Whites don't lynch Blacks with ropes anymore...now they use knees on necks to accomplish the same goal?

Actually, nothing has changed...the 1968 Kerner Commission says nothing had and it said it was because of white racist bigots and whites in general that it hasn't. So, in closing...since you're naming dates and how much has changed for the better...exactly what year were DOSIA free to have self-determination without white interference? When were Blacks free to concentrate without racism, bigotry, prejudice and discrimination blocking their life, liberty and pursuit of happiness?
