Somerset vs Stewart was the catalyst that got the southern & northern colonies to unite vs the Crown. They had misinterpreted the ruling as not being able to own slaves in the colonies.
It's been racist ever since.
Hell, even before. The rejects from Europe were actually the relgious whack jobs Europe didn't want because of their extreme hatred of others amongst their issues. Our cute little myth about seeking religious freedom is laughable to anybody in Europe.

The question isn't "was" but "is". Is America Anti-Semitic? It is clear a case could well be made that it was once. I say it isn't anti-Semitic and, if you agree, why is that? In a racist country, should a racial minority, such as Asians, be doing better than the accused Caucasian oppressors? Would a racist America ever elect a black President? Would a black man be the leading candidate for Governor among whites in CA if it were full of racists? It is clear that by looking at statistics, other minorities in the US, as a group, are doing less well relative to Asian and Caucasians but don't conflate the phony "cause and effect" arguments that those with a racist agenda may push. The causes for the differences in current outcomes by group identity are many and current overt racism is a negligible cause of those outcomes.
