Thanks. When it's the truth it's easy. To each his own. The "truth" is not as cut and dry, when you ignore variables that obviously matter. Again, old school kind of thinking versus what the Padres are doing in a game that has become devoid of running. Coug is correct because he's not using "well, look what happened" as a line of rationale. The odds are very high that the Brewers would have just pitched around Tatis, if Pham remains on second. Have to give context to the entire situation. And yeah, let's all move on because this is silly nitpicking over a random situation that doesn't matter over the course of 162 games. In other posts he certainly used the, "look what happened" scenario talking about what the batters ended up doing. Don't agree. There's a huge variable and that's Tatis at the plate. Bottom line is I say it's a big deal getting picked off second base with Tatis up there, and you two don't. Enough said. But, what I do agree with is that it's silly nitpicking.

With today's collision and ensuing nonsense in the dugout, Pham might've earned himself a day off tomorrow.

Pham was almost the goat tonight, when he went matador on Lindor's hit in the 7th, allowing Lindor, as the lead-off hitter, to get to 3rd base as the tying run. Snell stepped up bigly, and bailed Pham out of that miscue. Then Pham bailed himself out in the bottom of the inning, and helped out Snell, by drawing a walk to load the bases, which gave Machado the chance to drive in an insurance run with his walk.

Snell hasn't exactly been well supported by the offense so far this season. It's interesting how some pitchers manage to almost always match up against other equally good pitchers. If Manny hadn't hit that HR in the first, two things would not've happened… It could well have been 0-0 going into the 7th, Snell doesn't get the win, and I wouldn't have had a free Jumbo Jack for lunch today…

Snell's gotten 3 runs or less in every start this year. Mindblowing.

Ho-hum three double game. The good Pham has apparently returned. I have to admit, I was wrong about the guy.

Fans continue to attack Pham with verbal insults and slurs - Police had to intervene and remove at least one fan yesterday. This kind of stuff is not remotely acceptable and it's even come from the home fans. Buying a ticket does not entitle you to be an asshole.

The same thing happened to Jesse Winker from the Reds when they played here. Some of the most foul things I have ever heard yelled at a ballplayer in all the decades I have attended MLB games.

I hope there are enough people around these morons, both home & away, to stand up to the jerks & tell them to STFU & then pointing security at them. Peer pressure can make a difference. It definitely shouldn't be on Pham or Winker to point security to these idiots.

BTW, back to Mr. Pham & his performances:
- June: .337/.442/.628/1.070 - Since April 20: .298/.416/.505/.921
Seriously insane #'s, especially in June. He basically had 2+ weeks where he was hitting the ball relatively hard but nothing was falling, and has been Tommy Pham since. Even the soft flies are falling.
Now if we can just get Myers & especially Hosmer to get on a role...(I know Manny will)
We should get Nola back within a couple weeks (knocks wood), which will shore up our bench even further. Gives us a lefty bat off the bench, something we've been lacking.

Skip Schumaker, who I think is a future manager, talks about Pham's work ethic here.
