measurable attendance in Carson would look to the Pac 12 and any other league looking for expansion The P12 doesn't care what we'd draw in Carson for a game against Fresno, etc. They know we'd see a boost in attendance playing a P12 team in SDSU. The ability to draw eyeballs trumps attendance by a mile. I'll be curious to see if playing in Carson, with fewer San Diegans in attendance, would boost ratings in SD?

The smart money would be on bus service from campus to Indignity Playground. Carson is not someplace you really want to be stuck after dark. If the Aztec Club has any giddyup left in the tank, they'll get on this right away and start exploring and engineering some options. Party up, party there, party back. Of course, the uncertainty around Covid-19,20,21,22,23 may create some real challenges for Aztec fans. Party on, dudes (and dudettes).Aside from the FUBAR parking location at the Rose Bowl (i.e. on the complete opposite side of the stadium from where the breakfast was served), they did a great job with the busing to the F U C L A game last year - the best part being they allowed our Aztecarita cooler on board/us to drink on the way. Hmmmmm, you drank Aztecaritas on the way up, then you had to walk forever to the Aztec breakfast? You sure you didn't take a right when the breakfast was 10 paces to the left?

Amidst all the euphoria, I may have misunderstood something. I didn't think fans would attend games this year. if not, all the trip planning and complaining about Carson means nothing.
Wicker may have this right. No fans. Knock down stadium, which will guarantee opening in 2022. That is the date he wants to get absolutely right.
In all of sports, I see this as a "throw away season". Great time for this project, as the program is losing not two seasons but one.

If the MWC wants some sort of a 2020 FB season, they had better make the decision pretty quickly. I think most of the other FBS conferences are playing. The MAC is still dithering, and of course so is the MWC. Let's see, here are the conferences playing . . .
AAC ACC Conference USA Big 10 (soon) Big 12 SEC Sunbelt plus Notre Dame
The PAC 12 and MWC seem to want to go down in FB history as the Bozos of 2020.

Was reading some guy on Twitter(Tony Fantano, whoever he is)who says it is his understanding that the Aztec powers that be have received so much negative feedback on the Carson site that they won’t be playing there after all. It’s Twitter so I’ll believe that when I see it!

The travel concerns were if we had a spring football season and for next year when, hopefully by then, fans would be allowed.

If it helps get Aztecs Stadium up and ready for 2022, I am fine with it. Might be a cool novelty, and maybe it might draw some additional alums in LA area for games. All you complainers of SDCCU stadium this is a very good up to date stadium in great shape, and like 'redaztec5150' mentions it may bring in many LA area alumns & fans to see the Aztecs play. You could also get some from the Inland Empire which is closer, and you know how Rocky use to always love getting players from the Inland Empire! Plus, they will only be playing there about 1 and 1/2 years which will help get Aztec Stadium in S.D. built that much quicker. Can't complain about that! It is a small sacrifice to make.

What a bunch of frickin wimps... I have driven many, many miles to Aztec games... this changes nothing, your either committed or your not Your opinion only😲 As are those who make such a big deal of attending the games there. I had season tix for eleven seasons and drove 95 miles (one way) to every home game and back and loved doing so. I arrived home many times at 12:45 or 1 am without complaint, and six of those seasons were losing and one tie season. One year I met a former coach who drove to the home games all the way from Carpenteria. He never gave it a second thought he said to me!

It’s Twitter so I’ll believe that when I see it! They committed to playing in the stadium while building the new one. I cannot imagine 5% of the voters or fans thought it was a positive announcement to follow the Chargers to LA. They made their bed and it is what it is. I hope people go, I really do, but I won’t be going. I would have bought or retained my tickets if it was anywhere in this city and likely the county. I don’t believe Tony but do assume the feedback was brutal

IMO C19 wasn't the driving factor at all. It was a) the shape the stadium was in after they received the keys requiring more of an investment to be game ready, and b) their contractor telling them if they want to open on time they need to implode the stadium a year earlier (Jan '21 vs. '22) whereas they were being told '22 was fine before. I do think it would be nice if they spoke to the specifics of each instead of talking in generalities, but that's their call. All I think C19 did was make them more hopeful their season ticket base would be less ticked off knowing they would only miss attending games in SDCCU 1 season rather than 2. I get that they're saving on the general operating costs w/o fans, but I think we're still in Carson even without C19 if the stories about SDCCU "being in worse conditions than we thought" are indeed true.

Although disappointed with not having our team play SD County, I can live with the Carson decision because, 1) The 2020-21 winter/spring season will likely be conference only games (only 4 so called home games) and no fans in attendance. 2) The 2021 fall season, if a full non-conference plus conference schedule is doable, it may or may not allow fans. Or fans with social distancing could be required. So playing in SD County in a 6000 to 7500 seat stadium that would not accommodate all season ticket holders and for only one season would still create as much or more hate and discontent as the Carson thing. And if social distancing is required then only 2000 to 3000 seats. A lot more season ticket holders would be pissed if the games are playing in SD but they can't get a seat because of a micro venue. If you have to watch it on Tv it makes little difference where they are played. So I'm taking SDSU's ticket option one and warming up the big screen Tv and the BBQ. Like I said, a little disappointed but if it's better for the construction of Aztec Stadium, I'll be content to live with it. And it would be a cold day in hell before I'd give up my spot in the queue for Aztec Stadium seats.
GO AZTECS

Before I commit to giving SDSU more money I would like to know how much I would have to "donate" to keep myself in line for the new stadium. If I understand the emails correctly it said if I pay the per seat donation amount (not ticket amount) then I'm OK. I can't attend games in Carson as I work on Saturdays and taking Option 1 and handing over boatloads of money isn't financially doable. I would also like to know the cost per seat in the new stadium before handing over what would amount to a blank check. Hard to make decisions when the figures aren't available. I'm already near the top of my financial threshold for tickets, nearing retirement with it's lesser income and getting crankier at dealing with crowds. After 40 years of having season tickets I might just relegate myself to being a TV fan and attend just a game or two in person, kind of like I do for basketball.
