I'm ashamed that after 4 solid years of recruiting and practice we are NOT better than San Jose st.
I for one am getting sick and tired of our gimmick like 3-3-5 defense which only seems to work against the option

I am frustrated, but never ashamed or mad. We see some more areas where we need help. A kicker who can get the ball into or thru the end zone would help. There is one over at USD who is paying part of his own way. We could have had him. How many have we tried who are on schollie? It is nice to have a stable of running backs who can not all see the field. Maybe one of those schollies could have gone to a kicker who can perform. I say that just as a suggestion and not a rant to fire any coach or criticise any kid. As pointed out they are just kids on the field, we can coach them up better and/or be a little more thorough when putting those offers out.
Kick coverage is always difficult when you can't get it deep or if you are trying to pop it high and don't get down on coverage in time.
It should also be noted that North Dakota and San Jose were both pretty good football teams.

Not ashamed of the team. Really ashamed at the 24 K turnout. If I were the Big East I would put some attendance performance clause in the contract. Way to represent San Diego. Pathetic.

Well, what do you expect? Games like last night are a great example of why the fan support is minimal. Stop losing to schools like San Jose State and the attendance will increase. ..Sent from my Samsung GS3..

If you're an Aztec fan games like yesterday are nothing new...(actually becoming the norm). There is no positive from the game. What we did well, we should have done well. Losing is the only thing that matters and we have done way too much. The culture was changing under Hoke, now it has gone back to the way it was during the 10yrs prior. If the fans aren't upset, then you are not a fan. The kids play hard and they should. No pat on the back from me there. For things to change, we need to get better recruitsand that all starts with the Head Coach. I am looking forward to the new coach and think the search should begin ASAP!!

If you can't get people to turn out for major college football when the prices are so reasonable it is a crime. Part of the problem is the game day experience is not helped by the staffing of the Stadium and the Security Folks. This makes two games in a row that it was hard to get out of the Stadium because not enough doors were open. Just how hard can that be. It was also hard to get to the outer ring of the parking lot from behind the Aztec Club Site because security locked and even tried to plastic band shut one main egress point. The best thing about last night beyond the great performance by Muema was not hearing that "Fear the Spear" joke. Someone must be listening at least a little.

Some could argue the label major college football. We've done very little to deserve that label. Lets be realistic. Every time we have an opportunity to earn respect, we fall on our asse. Who did we lose to in that bowl game last season? I mean really! Whats our record against BCS teams? Two loses to Cal Poly SLO? There's a reason tickets are cheap. Big time is going to take big money. Live on the cheap and get what you pay for.

They still had that stupid Fear the Spear logo on the big boards. It's just lame and needs to be flushed down the crapper.

No one should be ashamed of the team. They all appeared to play hard and to the end. But it's not fair to blame the fans or attendance for poor performance. That's on coaching and recruiting. It took years of a steady dose of lousy football to create this apathy and it started turning around 3 years ago. But fans are not stupid, they see the decline last year and into this year and this creates a cycle of doubt. Someone else said it better, that there is nothing about the program that creates a buzz. People were talking about Aztec football three years ago, and even more so 2 years ago. With all the football world focused on Michigan, Hoke and SDSU, we could have used that rare spotlight of attention and thus oppotunity, to perhaps hire a great coach. Instead we let it pass with a whimper. The buzz is gone and I don't see how this regime can bring it back. Just the opposite in basketball.

Who did we lose to in that bowl game last season? I mean really! +28 I'll bet that bowl game loss to a Sun Belt school in a game we had in the bag but for the kind of stupid penalty SDSU football specializes in will cost the program at least 50K ticket sales this year, or about $100K. In isolation, those stupid mistakes don't mean all that much but cumulatively over the years, they have meant the program is barely treading water.

I agree with Words here too. The buzz is gone already because this isn't basketball. Steve Fisher has proved himself capable of turning around a poor start and finishing the season on an upswing. Football, OTOH, never does that. Start bad and we finish bad too - well, unless you consider wins over such FBS dregs as UNLV and CSU to amount to a GOOD performance.

If you can't get people to turn out for major college football when the prices are so reasonable it is a crime. If they were offering "major college football" you'd have a point. That is part of the crime.

I don't give a shite about x this and o that or the team didn't prepare or the players are responsible. Horse crap to all of it. If you are a school that has been down as long as ours then there is only one way to winning. You win with the right head coach. Two ways to get the right head coach. You luck into a good coach or you hire the right guy regardless of the circumstances. For the later you need admin with stones. Rocky is what he is. An intermediate hire to get us to the next stage. Low risk and low reward. I personally like him, but not the guy to take us where WE want to go. We = fans. If you are pissed about the loss then talk to admin.

I say the reverse. Put 50-60k in the stands and we will win more games like these. Never happen cuz San Diego is not a sports town. Just sayin. In the past we've had good attendance against TCU, Boise State, BYU, etc. We've lost then all. When you win those kind of games in front of a large crowd, they come back. You have it bass ackwards. The team needs to earn their attention, regardless of who they play.

I'm talking about the crappy losses to teams we should have beat where the stadium loudspeakers are louder than the crowd. Quite honestly, if I were a recruit and looked up to the stands I would not commit to SDSU. The atmosphere just sucks and has for decades. That's the culture.
