I'd like to see more onsides kicks. Almost every kick is returned to at least the 30 if not the 35. So you're giving up maybe 20-30 yards for a chance at possession of the football. So the question becomes, what are the odds you recover an onsides kick? If they are 50% or greater I think you kick the onsides kick. They changed the rules onside kicks they can not fair catch, makes it require a skilled kick bouncer.

I don't know if I love Rocky, but I do find it interesting that last week the entire board seemed to be conceding 35-17 Washington. Suddenly, after a game where Washington's offense doesn't score after the first quarter, the board's aflame with people calling for Rocky's head.
Is 21-12 more frustrating than 35-17? Or is it the slow start? The unconventional approach in the kicking game? Is it the envy that comes with Nevada beating Cal and our inability to beat a PAC 10 team once again?
I do think Sarkisian is better than Tedford and Nevada's coach is better than Rocky.
But I also think we won't see a team like Washington until Boise, but we probably lose a weird one to Nevada, where we actually look like better athletes, but they come away with a win.
We look faster, more athletic and tougher than we did three years ago. Rocky gets credit for that. I just wish he believed a little bit in the power of talk to motivate, and I only believe in it a little. But that little can make the difference in one or maybe two games a year. I think we will continue to improve under Rocky, but I don't think he is capable of getting his team to beat a team they are not supposed to beat. His realism is too thick.

Nah, just a way of saying he is what he is, a realist who doesn't seem to believe that a lesser team can beat a greater team now and then based upon emotion, a couple of breaks, extraordinary focus, etc. The mental game.
Too thick simply says his character will not change. Even though Hoke got his ass handed to him by Alabama, he believes in the mental game. Lots of posters on here hated his "rah, rah!" character, but I think coaches like that win one and sometimes two more games a year just by raising the level of confidence in their players.

The five "sure points" we didn't go for still wouldn't have won the game. Exactly from my fingers to your eyeballs, using Proboards

Josh,
Rocky is as good as done based on what I've read on this board. If he loses Saturday the question will be when.,...as in next Monday or Tuesday.

turnovers lost the game for us in seattle, not Rocky's decision to go for 2 or the non FGA. Like an earlier post said, 5 points wouldn't have made a difference. Not to mention...all you by the book guys wouldn't have a TD as we converted on 4th twice to get the second TD.
I expect more from this board. Where's the analysis of the game and the players. All this Rocky was UW mvp or Acee/Canepa questioning is bs and the articles they wrote are embarrassing.
I thought our run game looked pretty good. Kazee was fantastic and muema and the OL improved as the game went on. Katz did make some plays with the tuck and run, but was either too quick to do so or couldn't check to an open man. Butler seemed almost disinterested which was odd as I thought he had some fine routes during the scrimmage. Sandifer was a pleasant surprise; not that i doubted his ability, just good to see him make a few plays. Overall i thought we ran a little better than average and pass was less than average. The OL held their own...not that UW defense is elite, but they opened holes and gave katz some time. With all the new pieces to the offense, we got better as the game went on.
Defense was not there for the first two series, then stout. Mind you, they were bending here and there but made the play they needed to when the time came. Held them to 14, so ya that's above average. LMcFad and Nat were commanding. I think the scoreboard showed 10 tackles for loss.
Special Teams...had some decent returns and we didn't give up much, so that's a plus. In fact we were better than them in both kicks and returns, which is funny. Net yards per punt..us 42 them 29 and net yards per kick us 35 them 29. And they were 0-1 FGA...lol.
Thought most calls and spots favored UW but whatever you have to overcome that.
Am I disappointed, yes. Am I outraged, headhunting or without hope...hell no.
People need to relax and start planning for a fine tailgate on Saturday. See y'all at warrior walk.
