Boyd looks really smooth to me....Poised in control....I like his game... .No fear of he and Davis breaking the press..... Gonna be lots of growing pains early.... Collegiate landscape is soooo different now (because of NIL) Our team should be fun to follow..... Yeah, remember what a headache that was last year? Butler and Trammel were turnover machines.

BYRD was 7-12 from the floor, 4-8 from three with 8 RB'S. DAVIS was 4-8 from the floor, BOYD was 4-11. COLEMAN had 9 RB'S, HEIDE 0 pts, 2 RB'S,,, what happened to HEIDE, I thought he would progress from last year, he didn't see the floor much. MAGOON cramped up tonight. Heide has lead hands and poor footwork. Depth piece at best. He didn’t improve at all from last season.

Offensively, our gaurds are much better than last year. it was good that Parrish left.

Heide made a bad pass almost as soon as he got in and then compounded things by fouling on the TO breakaway. Dutch stomped his foot and Heide came out about three minutes later.

Let's pump the brakes on making grand proclamations after just one game. Plus I saw much of the Kentucky game and Butler looked better than every Aztec tonight except for Byrd.

Heide will be fine. He is a good player. He would be playing more if we didn't have two freshman that have high level potential. Magoon and Compton moved really well and have a ton of length. They need minutes, and unless they are floundering, they will get them.

Still don't think we should schedule UCSD and USD. The cost to benefit ratio is not good.

Best takeaway for me was that Boyd took control of the game in the last four minutes and took us to victory.

Plus I saw much of the Kentucky game and Butler looked better than every Aztec tonight except for Byrd. Two things can be true... 1. If Butler was on our team he'd be our best player on day 1 2. If you can't get Butler going downhill, he can clog up your offensive sets

Curious to see the final box score, because Byrd had something like 20 points, 7 boards, 7 stocks and 3 assists? Those are crazy numbers in a 63-58 game. Just got home from the game, Byrd was easily the MVP of this game. His stat sheet is pretty crazy when you look at what he did on both sides of the court.

Both teams gutted it out in the 2nd half. SDSU's big run in the 2nd half was a great answer to UCSD's - it was just fortunate for the AZZZZZZZZtecs that they had a lead going already when UCSD made their 10-0 run. When UCSD took the lead, it was not looking good on the court.

That was not a good UCSD team. We played down to a mid to low Big West team. Its going to be a long season. No girth up front and when UCSD went to a 3rd grade zoe defense we had 7ft jacking up 3s. On a good note Boyd is a legit PG and Davis has improved alot. UCSD is predicted to finish 3rd in the Big West. There team was alot better last year. I watched them live last year about 4 times, USD 2 times, and SWC twice. If UCSD come in 3rd place in there conference, the their conference will not be very good.

I thought Gwath got a knee in the thigh. Nah he just out of shape. From what I saw, he got banged on a play and never came back into the game.

here's a nightmare thought for the rest of the season: how much money will Byrd be getting from duke or _______________________________9fill in the blank). next season? enjoy his play while we can.
