Maybe they’ll move the next football game to New Mexico.

Hmm, there are organizations that create “marketing” by constantly being outraged. In terms of the snapdragon field, OVG manages the facility and the field and a 3rd party should make an assessment.

Has there been any comment from those at the top who are responsible for this fiasco? We've been commenting on it for quite some time. Where is the official explanation for this situation? It seems like Snapdragon has been a major negative since it opened. I've never been there myself but, once again, we look incompetent. Charging too much, crummy grass, questionable coaching and losses that could have been wins. Just another day in Aztec World.

Not even talking about the winning or coaching—But just the structure and failure to make it feel like an asset most times.

I think this really came to a head last year, when Snapdragon hosted the NWSL Championship Game, and the field had standing water on it.
Maybe SDSU needs to get the field situation fixed before running off and building a new golf center, or any other sports facilities improvements.

A field needs to drain, that was kit a field issue but a bad decision not to delay to allow for drainage.

Time for a big old séance to rid us of his bad juju.

These types of things DO NOT happen overnight, who is over seeing this place? Pricing is off, concessions are off, attendance is off............ Big Picture people are sleeping at the top!

Speaking of concessions, they haven't opened the Corner Markets the couple games, if at all this season? ? Should convert to a concession stand??? Seems like there are only stands in 2 corners??stands

Typical San Diego overreaction. The FC wave thing is a political play. Landin Donavan is the interim coach so you can piece it together. For the same reason nothing gets done in San Diego. Ive seen worse fields in the NFL in the midwest. The easy solution is to install artificial turn but ppl around here wil b@tch about it. This is a top 20 college stadium. Once we realize that the Chargers will never come back or the NFL, we will move on. The current rate for a professional stadium is 2 billion dollars not 320 mil.
Im just waiting for Donovan to put out a statement along the lines of if he would of been given the opportunity to build a stadium, he would have built it better than sofi. SD politics is run like TJ politicians. Ive lived here 25 years and any time there money in this town, sticky fingers gets the best of them. I can tell you countless of amount of scenarios that happen in SD like the pay to play in Chula Vista.. etc etc.

Maybe they’ll move the next football game to New Mexico. Maybe they can move it to the practice field or the sports deck? Sure the attendance won’t be a factor

Sure the attendance won’t be a factor need to first check and make sure they are not having a support rally for SJSU volleyball team that night, would not want to compete with that.

It is a lot of events for a field and grass that barely had any time to set in. I prefer grass, but I can see how pounding the ground frequently before rhizomes can adequately set in the soil could be an issue, which may be one of the reasons the soil is in need of that much sand for leveling

They laid new turf October 6th October 13 Wave October 16 Wave October 26 SDSU Events is not the issue in this case. The field is not in championship shape, but it’s far from not playable. There is nothing but complaints that surrounds the Wave. From complaining that they are third on field priority, to the field, to a whole host of other complaints. If State is not going to reduce ticket prices, then the Wave should go back to USD where they shared a field with USD Football, USD men’s soccer, and USD Women’s soccer. USD apparently had magical elves on the grounds team as there was nary a peep. With their lease up, I say the Wave go back to their USD utopia.

You can distrust the Wave's rhetoric and see the rational opinion that it takes time for sod to root into the soil and the issues when it doesn't have time to do such a thing. It will take a while to create shoots and rhizomes if you beat the hell out of new turf and will likely need to keep replacing a lot of it with this schedule. Just a fact.

It costs ~$500k to install artificial turf. More if you want something more than green carpet on concrete. You replace it once every ten years. Since we are in the G6 every penny save is a penny earned. Time to go to turf. You do understand that many believe the fake turf is more conducive to injuries, right?
