Do women players ever hit other women players in the face with the ball? Yes, but look how high the SJSU player was off the ground and she was nearly mid-court while the SDSU play that got hit was in the back-court.

Three things I wonder about (though not really): 1) Would this be an issue in a non-Presidential election year? (I suppose it would, since it's one more thing to fuel the 24/7/365 right-wing news machine/random bitch-fest). 2) Are there reporters stationed outside of UCSD/Alvarado for the latest updates from the doctors on-staff re facial-reconstruction efforts on our brave women v-ballers -- and will we have enough players off the injured list to keep this outstanding season on-track? 3) More broadly do men have higher bone-strength in the facial region that allows them to play volleyball with other men? Put another way... Is this a safe sport for men to play? The volleyball injury rate for men must be astronomical. I could see why SDSU dropped it! ;0) 1) Yes, it has been for 3.5 years now. 2) See article below. Also look at all women infiltrated sports, like boxing, MMA, soccer, basketball. There are injuries happening all the time. But they don't show it on CNN or ESPN. Why not? 3) Men are bigger, faster and stronger. They can play at a much faster pace than women. That's why you have men and women sports. Are you really thinking there is no reason to separate men and women sports? Keep in-mind, this man is not even good enough to play for the men's team and yet he is the best on the women's team. What happens "when" a good male athlete wants to play on a women's team? Would you still have no issue with men playing against women? Do you have any consideration for women who lose scholarship opportunities? Or lose playing opportunities? Or do you just want to stick to your political agenda? catholicmedicine.org/news/female-volleyball-player-17-left-paralyzed-brain-damage-transgender-opponent-who-cackledSo... 1) SJSU women's volleyball has been a burner issue for 3 years. 2) There's currently mass-casualties of Aztecs at the nearest hospital from the just-concluded SJSU women's volleyball match, and -- obtw -- we are going to have to yank that girl currently kicking field goals off the Helix High team, even after she booted the game-winner recently because she's going to end up in a coma. And... 3) The weak-hitting man on the team is to blame for the above. I'm gonna go check on my weather-altering machine. I've got another Cat-5 to launch at a Red state...

"The truth is out there" - X-Files "You can't handle the truth!" - Weak-hitting SJSU Volleyball player that sends Aztec women to hospital You seem to have some kind of fascination with this ladyboy and see no problem with him (her?) playing on a team where they didn't even tell the other players on the team of his background. There is now a lawsuit from one of his/her own teammates that is soon to be joined by others about a male on a female team, this is a sad situation when players on the same team do not want to even practice against a teammate for fear of injury (playing volleyball?). The balls in your court now or are you planning your next trip to Bangkok? ***sleepy, just having some fun with you please do not get heated over statements made, I come from a want-to-be professional athlete/Exercise Science background of over 50 years and just find it hard for a male dropping down to compete against females.

Hey, I'm still waiting on the injury reports from this match. Seems reasonable, seeing as how that was the stated reason for objection to the player's presence. Taking a spot is a separate conversation -- one that I'm willing to have given my daughter is in competitive sports (and I'm aware of and have even attended softball games with trans athletes on the field -- and, no, no blood and guts in those tilts, either). As I said... Separate conversation. But let's dispense with the "This is a life/safety issue" horsesh!t, first. That's desperation talking.

Nowhere near a life/safety issue but then again it's not a level playing field either, males do have advantages over females in contact sports.

It isn't just about the higher potential for injury, it is because they have an unfair advantage over females. Even Caitlin Jenner says it wouldn't be fair for her to compete against women in golf. Young girls and boys are rather equal in strength until they hit puberty. After that, boys become stronger and faster because of testosterone.

Show me the list of Aztec injured. Show me the exhaustive list of anybody injured, anywhere. Then I'll show you a list of players injured playing... I don't know... Tiddlywinks. You get the point -- but, please, continue if it makes you happy. You guys keep circling back to the same dead-end argument. It's a non-contact sport. Next you're going to outlaw mixed-doubles at Wimbledon. Again... Get back to "taking somebody's spot" argument, and then you've got a leg to stand on. But stop with the injury nonsense. It's a bad look.

These are scholarship athletes who have been playing the game at a high level for many years and Now feel unsafe during practice because of 1 player on their own team. These same players who have played against and competed with other high level players on other teams and have never reported feeling unsafe? The potential is there and I would say about 100% of these girls DID NOT sign up to compete against guys because of their unequal abilities and physical stature while compromising their overall safety whole trying to compete while earning a scholarship.

Nevada just went against their administration and forfeited their match. The players didn’t feel safe playing and stood up for themselves. Good for them.

Women are going to have to stand up, or nothing will change. Here is the players statement: Here is the universities response:

I had a long talk with my daughter over this. If her daughter ran into this problem, she’d pull her off the team and transfer right away. She wouldnt waste time with all this f****** $#!+. That being said, so am i. I calledand cancelled my donation foe this year. Ive had enough too.

Not really related to this particular story, but Will Ferrell has a great documentary on Netflix called 'Will & Harper'. I give it two thumbs up, as did Rotten Tomatoes.

Do women players ever hit other women players in the face with the ball? Yes Are you guys good with this? Female college athletes competing again male college athletes in a female college sport? And one our our players takes a head shot from a male back row hitter and she is in the back of the court? And all you can say is females also spike the ball and hit females in the face? WTF man. Of course that is true. And of course female's get hurt by other females in competition. But that has nothing to do with what is actually going on. What really happened was a male spiked a ball into a females face during a female college sport. Why should she have to put up with that? It's crazy. Get males out of female sports. Period. EDit: It is upsetting watching a video of a male spike the ball into a females face during a women's volleyball match. Having slept on my post, I should have written something like this: Just as you can exaggerate the danger to females having to compete against males in a sport, you can also minimize the danger. Clearly there is some increase in danger to the female athlete. Females should not be forced to compete against males in a women's sport.
