Xander played the final 70 holes at the Scottish Open without a bogey. Looks like he’s ready to go low at The Open.

He's almost always a betting lock to finish at least Top 20 in a Major.

He's almost always a betting lock to finish at least Top 20 in a Major. He also continued a long streak of making the cut. His tee to green play is superb. If he makes putts he’s got a real shot of winning The Open. |

Saturday forecast 80% Chance of heavy rain and wind 10-20 mph. If that bad weather comes to fruition then it will force the players to make a serious change of strategy. They all have great swings, but how many USA players could alter their swings to adapt to the conditions? It's defintely not something they have to practice all the time. The UK players are used to it so they'll have the advantage. |

I really like recording the Open from 1:00AM on the USA channel. So when I wake up I can fast forward to when Xander tees off. It's good that Tiger is in his threesome. Even though Tiger's not the same player he was the threesome gets more air time because of his popularity. Hopefully Xander continues to be near the top of the leaderboard to justify it as well.

X-Man finished with a +1, 72 today, leaving him at -1 for the tournament, tied for 7th. Well positioned for a run. Six back of Shane Lowery. But he will likely need to fire a 66 or 67 tomorrow to truly get into contention. Otherwise, it'll be another ho-hum Top 5 finish in a major.

Xander @ -1 is one of only 10 guys under par after the first two rounds. He got lucky playing early today because it was blowing 25-35 MPH later in the day. That's why the cut is +6.
It's supposed to rain tomorrow but not sure how bad it will be. He's paired with his best friend, Patrick Cantlay for the third day in a row, which will help.
They tee off at 3:05pm there, which is 7:05am here. That's about the time the "light rain" is starting and should continue throughout his whole round. The wind's supposed to only be 8-12 MPH and the Temperature in the low 60s so while it won't be warm, it shouldn't be freezing either.
Xander is the ultimate grinder so he's more suited to this atmosphere than a lot of the others are.

Xander just finished his 17th hole, in 3rd, one stroke behind the leaders. He's just barely missed birdies at least 4 times. If his putting was as good as his tee-to-green play today, he'd be ahead by 4 or 5.

Xander in fairway on 18 and leaders still have several holes to play and are all blowing up. Unless the weather stops I don't see anyone finishing more than one shot ahead of him.
He's set up well to win it tomorrow.
