Has anyone else noticed how lazy the announcers get at times when discussing Xander? It's like the Kahwi has big hands or the Fisher handed out tickets to then Cox Arena to get people to go to games. With Xander it is the non-stop he has added 5 MPH of swing speed this year. LOL!

Almost like the mental effect of winning the PGA turned him into a Sunday-closer (semi-sarcastically stating the obvious) Yup, Xander said it himself.

That was a master class in patience, ball-striking and timely-putting!
Starting to feel like Phil 2.0 in the majors...
A few more wins, including the Tour Championship... and he will catch Scottie for POY.

…and dare I say it: Xander may be about to eclipse Rory as second best player in the world. It was also satisfying, to me, that the LIV players were non-factors on Sunday.

I agree with the Golf Digest writer that a Wannamaker Trophy + "Champion Golfer of the Year" beats 6 FedEx Cup wins + a boring Masters for Player of the Year honors. The FedEx Cup format ruined the PGA Tour, but that's another debate.
The turning point at Troon was on #11, probably the toughest hole of the tournament, where Xander got a "super skin" on the whole field. He hit I think pitching wedge from 196 out of the fescue, pulled it slightly left of his line, and ended up bouncing and rolling to a kick-in birdie. The fire was lit.
It was at that point I was convinced he was simply the best golfer out there.
The way he grinded through a 69 (no pun) on Saturday in the worst weather of the tournament convinced me he had the mental strength to win.
Playing with Tiger and Cantlay the first two days was a great benefit, and put simply, it was a fantastic feeling to share this journey.
Made me proud to share this Aztec legacy.

Here's another cool list Xander joined this year: Players who have won two Majors in a year and finished in the Top Ten in the other two: Arnold Palmer Jack Nicklaus Gary Player Tom Watson Tiger Woods Jordan Spieth Xander Schauffele
That's a pretty All-Time AMAZING list!

Also, the only player to win two majors in a single year shooting 65 for the last round. The only won to do that in a career, was Jack.

What an incredible win for Major #2! I just returned from Scotland late last night. (It was very difficult to get back here, with one missed flight connection.) Along with three other guys, we had Open tickets for the practice rounds plus the first two days of the tournament. We got to see Xander on Thursday and Friday in the pairing with Tiger and Cantlay, although with the big crowds it was hard to see a lot of the action. Dude that's epic!! What a trip.

I'm really looking forward to next year's majors. Now that Xander has overcome 2 pressure packed majors, I can see him finally winning the Masters.

It's the logo for the Descente, which is the ski/sports clothing/apparel company that is one of his endorsements. www.descente.com/en/ourstory/athlete/xander-schauffele.html
