But, he's right about the land. State, counties and cities have been apologizing for last 10 years. This has been going on nationally for 200+ years and is a bi-partisan issue. Blaming it just on the Democrats is ludicrous. Of course, azson, that is true. But there are always some who give it their all to not understand much of anything. |

I understand it is hard for some to look deeper into what can be set up as a distraction from the reality of what the motivation is behind some events. After graduating moved to Texas. In 1991 I was doing business in Durant, OK. Driving into town the water tower was painted "Home of the Savages". I was surprised Southeastern Oklahoma State University (Dennis Rodman played there) were the Savages. In 2006 the mascot change to the Savage Storm.

It was already amended 2 months ago to exclude SDSU. Thanks. Didn't catch that. So why would Alvarez and the State Legislature carve out higher education? Threading the needle, high schools have fewer alumni and I'm guessing they are far less passionate about the name/mascot. I went to Grossmont, if a politician pushed to push the name from Foothiller to the cacti I couldn't care less, if they pushed to change the Aztec mascot then we would have a problem. Alvarez is trying to placate voters without losing a large part of his base. |
