Correct. I listed the new members for the rebuild. I think they would go small and just get to 8 and wait and see if UCLA wants to come back eventually or maybe Utah. My guess is they could add SDSU, UNLV and one of the following CSU, Boise, Rice, Tulane. I think small makes sense at least initially and keeping it regional to lower costs and try to promote west coast athletics. SDSU then pick 2 of UNLV/CSU/AF/Fresno/Boise. Stanford/Cal may have reservations particularly on Fresno/Boise but really mostly depends on what the media partners want to see.

Fresno and Boise won't make the cut because of Academics and Location. Nor Cal is covered with Calford and Boise's TV market is tiny.

I'm hearing you, but at this point Stanford/Cal aren't captains of the ship anymore. If ACC does blow up and they want to revitalize the PAC I'd imagine they'd have to do what's best for the conference and not their own academic prestige. If media partners say there's more money with Fresno/Boise you gotta deal with it. But also we are talking about folks that let the PAC blow up to begin with so who knows........

No more AF, they offer nothing in return with remote location, smaller fan base, no TV market and lets not forget their wonderful blocking techniques. Hard Pass on Air Force, they would bring VERY little to any conference.

isn't this another decision that SDSU has very little ability to resolve in any way other then to try to get as many fans in the stands and possibly get even more to watch on TV - as TV Viewers are the key for most TV Networks

What then would be the difference between the new professional college division, NFL, UFL, and any other of the so call leagues? Will they still have 4 years eligibility? Will they have to go to class and stay eligible? Binding contracts, unions, benefits, retirement......? Since I don't follow/watch the NFL, not sure why I would watch or care about them either? I guess I'm in the minority?Considering that those of us that have expressed similar sentiments it appears the the minority may not be as small as one would expect. I'm very curious at to how I'll feel sitting in the stands this coming season Still hoping I'll remain excited for Aztec football and basketball. I could continue to be interested if the Aztecs were in a situation where athletes were being paid roughly what students working jobs to get through college were being paid. And maybe a bit more as many sports are very physically demanding and require extra time. That would be very fair. But, college kids raking in a million dollars and such just makes me disinterested in the whole deal. Hopefully when the prima donnas are in their professional college leagues the rest of the sensible schools can go their own, separate way.

I've said similar things before and probably will again.

Yes, but you will have players being poached by the schools in the "College Championship League" and games will likely just be streamed. Some schools will drop football altogether - some that have been in the P5. SDSU seems positioned well to continue as our stadium hosts more than just college football and generates more money than it costs to finance. You're right about the poaching. But I wonder if there's some creative way to make that less-enticing to a "student athlete". e.g., we've been talking for months/years about how air-tight these contracts are between colleges and conferences, with buyout clauses and lord-knows what else. Why can't that be part of a student-athlete scholarship package? Like... "Sure, you can leave SDSU for Georgia -- but when you signed on the dotted line with us last summer, you stipulated that you'd hand back the cost of your room, board, school fees, etc PLUS, you'd give 33% of your NIL as a UGA Bulldog to the SDSU Athletic Department... Says so right where you (and your parents) signed the contract." Why wouldn't something like that work? Adjustments will be made by those uninvited to the big party, but I would think many recruits would not want to sign such a deal.
