Who says anyone is going to get kicked out? They can still be in the B1G but the top schools will leave to form their own league. Same with the SEC. This x1000 I don't know if it will be 32 or 40 schools but they will leave the ncaa to form their own professional league and take all sports with them. Like you said that is how they will cut the dead weight is by leaving. Fox and espm are pushing for this big time… less mouths to feed. West Usc Ucla Oregon Washington Mdwest Osu Michigan Notre Dame Penn state Southwest Texas Oklahoma Lsu South Alabama Geoegia Florida Auburn East Florida statw Clemson Virginia I know its only 14 but the rest can be filled in depending on what fox and espn want. I'm not so sure UCLA would be invited. USC already gives them LA and you have a full complement of pro teams in the area so competition is high. Plus, 20-30K in the Rose Bowl is a bad visual. Utah and one of the Zona schools would likely be considered as well as Colorado (just for the Denver market) if they can develop a competitive market.

The highest valued Schools left the havenots holding the bag. As soon as one of the Networks decides it wants an elite CFB League, it will happen. Yes, that where I see it going.

a majority of the BIG schools that were added have a good amount of TV Viewers so doubt that they will be dropped - same for some of the original BIG schools . What the TV Networks want are the TV Viewers so doubt that schools would be dropped . Who knows what might happen to the ACC and its major Money maker their ESPN TV deal but there is the clause for Feb 2025 where ESPN can decide If they want to keep the ACC ? TV money is quite important The reality is, every ACC School signed onto a bad contract. Now, they have buyers remorse. ESPN will only let them out of the contract when they have squeezed every last penny out of these Schools.

ESPN has deals with the SEC and Big 12
They will determine how much the ACC is worth it to them moving forward and at what price they want to pay them in Feb 2025

At some point -- after this "Super Conference" of highly-paid football squads of the Bama's and USC's and Ohio State's is formed -- don't we get back to modified version of college football? Made of kids in school, trading football for an engineering degree, getting paid just enough to get them through their four years comfortably, on-par with other students on-campus who are working, who are not on their fourth school in five years?
If, for example, the "have-not and left behind" Minnesota Golden Gophers play the Washington State Cougars in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day after a 10-1 season for the both of them, I'd watch that. Hell, I'd probably be in the stands for my 10th Rose Bowl. I'd watch the Cotton Bowl (in the old Cotton Bowl stadium, thank you very much), I'd watch Sun Bowl, and the Fiesta Bowl (in Sun Devil Stadium, please). The "Super Conference"... I have zero interest in.

What then would be the difference between the new professional college division, NFL, UFL, and any other of the so call leagues? Will they still have 4 years eligibility? Will they have to go to class and stay eligible? Binding contracts, unions, benefits, retirement......? Since I don't follow/watch the NFL, not sure why I would watch or care about them either? I guess I'm in the minority?

I figured that wasn't too far out of line of what a non-athlete student could make while attending school with a part time job. This is on top of their scholarship and benefits such as tutoring, also OK with me.
I'd love to see the Aztecs in the Cotton Bowl game (old Cotton Bowl stadium of course). I never have been in the old stadium, but as a kid (2nd grade give or take a year) I remember going to the Texas State Fair and seeing the original Big Tex. I don't remember anything else from that day.

I'm very curious at to how I'll feel sitting in the stands this coming season Still hoping I'll remain excited for Aztec football and basketball.

Some schools will drop football altogether - some that have been in the P5. SDSU seems positioned well to continue as our stadium hosts more than just college football and generates more money than it costs to finance.

But I wonder if there's some creative way to make that less-enticing to a "student athlete". e.g., we've been talking for months/years about how air-tight these contracts are between colleges and conferences, with buyout clauses and lord-knows what else. Why can't that be part of a student-athlete scholarship package? Like... "Sure, you can leave SDSU for Georgia -- but when you signed on the dotted line with us last summer, you stipulated that you'd hand back the cost of your room, board, school fees, etc PLUS, you'd give 33% of your NIL as a UGA Bulldog to the SDSU Athletic Department... Says so right where you (and your parents) signed the contract." Why wouldn't something like that work?

As these kids reap rewards from legal judgements for them, maybe it's time to use a few legal documents to give the system more checks and balances. Because it's wayyyy out of whack! Your example would probably be too aggressive initially but there has to be some pay out to the wronged parties. There's buyout clauses when coaches are poached, why not the same for the athletes now that they're paid? They'd probably need to be reclassified as employees first though.

Our old pal MHVer3 at it again: x.com/MHver3/status/1798195823898935693"ACC. 2 become villains so that 4 may depart. Blood on the hands of the best football brands. For the 2 public ivy’s not a drop. 2 travel north. 2 travel south. 1 left behind that shocks even me. Over Yore(mark) comes the vulture to pick the bones."

This guy has some sources somewhere cause he’s been right a lot. More than the actual journalists have been about all this reorganization. Remember when he said Colorado was going to the Big12 and the college president publicly told him it was untrue and they were staying, just to leave for the Big12 like a week or 2 later. I trust what he says this at point.

Zeigler has proposed implementing a similar structure to professional soccer transfer fees where clubs buy-out developing players that are still under contract with their current club. I'm not familiar to much with soccer or how that would work in today's changing NIL landscape, but I think it makes a lot of sense to help curb this transfer portal madness and poaching that is happening. As we've found out, there is less and less reason to focus on developing younger players if you're not high major.

I listed the new members for the rebuild. I think they would go small and just get to 8 and wait and see if UCLA wants to come back eventually or maybe Utah. My guess is they could add SDSU, UNLV and one of the following CSU, Boise, Rice, Tulane.

so in reality what are the chances that anything happens during the next 6 months - maybe a shake up when ESPN decides what it prefers to do with its TV deal with the ACC in Feb 2025
