Where is Miami going? Also, I'm not so sure about Notre Dame. As long as they have a decent place to put their non-football sports, and as long as they continue to make more money being independent in football than they would make joining the B1G... then I don't see them looking to leave (as it seems that the college football gods will continue to give them sufficiently preferential treatment).

Notre Dane Clemson Florida st UnC Virginia Miami Are as good as gone. Not sure about Miami. Have to just ask, why? The SEC won't need them with Florida and Florida St in their fold, does the big do much to mitigate that in adding Miami? The B1G will one day get Notre Dame.

Income side of the ledger opens up, as expense side builds. Welcome to the capitalist's version of college sports. I do wonder how long before Texas, Alabama, and LSU get tired of the Vanderbilt getting the same money media and CFB for being dead weight in the SEC. Same in the B10 for Rutgers and Maryland. Socialism => Capitalism

No doubt the bottom feeders in the Power 2 are going to get kicked out at some point. It’s the next logical step.

No doubt the bottom feeders in the Power 2 are going to get kicked out at some point. It’s the next logical step. Won't happen in the B1G. When they brought in Penn St the original 10 changed the bylaws so that none of them could be kicked out. Only way an original member can be kicked out is by 100% vote which won't happen because the next schools in line for demotion won't go for it. And it takes the same amount of votes to change that one bylaw.

Just like many technology companies issue multi-class common stock shares? Your Facebook (Meta) has 1 vote per share, but Zuckerberg's special founder's share has 100 votes per share, and he/his family/trust only hold those special shares.

In sports you want to keep the level of competition equal as interest would wane if the same one or two entities won year in and year out. In business, competition drives innovation. If Henry Ford had gotten his way, we would all still be driving black Model Ts. It took his son, Edsel, to get him to accept change given the innovations of other automakers like the Dodge Brothers.

Of course he’s not “searching” for new candidates, he knows exactly (more or less) who they will be already

This isn’t particularly true at all, although it is a good concept. Bayern Munich has won the Bundesliga something like 11 of the last 12 years and it’s still hugely popular with the entire German population. Real Madrid and Barcelona dominate La Liga, but the entire Spanish population is still enthralled.

And yet there are posters on here that have said that if SDSU can't compete in the new era of NIL that they would likely lose interest in watching.

I can guarantee that if Wyoming won the MWC title for the next 10 years it would have an impact on my interest and it wouldn't be positive. Stagnation tends to diminish interest for me.
