Utah did not sign onto the B12 GOR and I'm not sure they like being in the same conference of YBU. Of course, they are hoping for a B1G invite but they were one that did not want to see the PAC dissolve. The B12 is a better BB conference than football and ACC is a better conference academically. right now I see the ACC and the B12 in competition with each other to become the P3 and this may work to our benefit. ACC needs to add schools out west if they care about Calford and the B12 doesn't have a school that is in the Pacific time zone all year. Seeing what SDSU is doing revenue wise can't hurt either. Here. Pulled from the CAL board. => billfarley.substack.com/p/the-big-12s-rushed-deal-to-sign-coloradoUtah's B12 agreement, in it's fully glory, if anyone wants to read the entire PDF: billfarley.substack.com/api/v1/file/e4487b24-a5a5-414e-a4cb-e6ab4d83bea3.pdfOk, this makes more sense now. Utah signed an exemption allowing them to leave penalty free prior to the start of the contract commencement date of august 2. If Utah doesn’t leave by august 2, they are bound by GOR. Utah would need start acc play this year, i don’t see the acc buying out our mwc exit fees. But Utah is desperate not to be with Ybu soo who knows

Please quit making things sound possible. I don't think I can stand being left at the altar again. Ever hear of 3rd time's a charm?

It certainly feels like we have it coming: the brand new FB stadium with a brand new coach the basketball program continuing to build a national legacy and awareness San Diego county being the 5th most populous county in the entire US @ 3,269,000 a place everyone wants to visit I mean, come on!

FSU seems to really be the only really unhappy member - at least the only vocally unhappy member. They can GTFO and go indy if they think they're so hot.
Some of the other schools that aren't really football powers may have incentive to find a more basketball-centric landing spot like Big East, but if they want the money, it will always come from football. So eventually, those schools will be forced to commit more money to their football programs. With the advent of minor league NFL football at colleges - at least the advent of money that's not under the table anymore - the money grubbing will be intense. Who knows if places like BC, Syracuse, Wake Forest, et al. will even want to hang around for all of that nonsense.
The addition of Stanford, Cal, and SMU likely won't pay off. While it increases the conference's academic value, general sports competitiveness, and gives ACC the Bay Area and DFW markets, but over the long haul, the added travel costs may not pencil out.

FSU got shafted in the playoffs last season, which is why they think the ACC is a weaker conference. Nebraska went to the Big because they got screwed by Texas in their Big12 championship game, at the time. Unhappy campers in dissimilar circumstances, but similar moves.

At least this will be over by august 1. What's the fun if we cannot torture your heart! This would be a very good 20-team Power Conference (21 with Notre Dame sans their football), if it happened. I give <1%. x.com/OS_Beaver/status/1795203512189526478

Don't forget Notre dame to the big ten. They are biggest fish in the ocean.
I wonder how much the sec and big 10 would give to have them in their conference.

Real lot could be decided in Feb 2025 when ESPN when they have an option on if ESPN still wants to continue its TV deal with the ACC and what ESPN wants
As for SEC or the BIG wanting any of the ACC schools it is all about TV Viewers do the schools have a good amount of Viewers - Rutgers and Maryland were added to the BIG for their Viewers certainly not for the quality of their teams
BC is not a high quality football team but do they have a TV following - same with U of Pitt
Yes FSU was a good team but with the good amount of schools in Florida - how much does FSU bring in TV Viewers

I put zero stock in that comment whatsoever. Could be 100% true, or it could be just as true as UDub & Oregon saying they were fully committed to the PAC days/hours before bolting for the B1G. It's a stock PR response that gets said no matter what is going on behind the scenes.

Mississippi State is the only "State" school in the SEC, not sure if they'd want another one.

Question: would the 40m a year payout to go to the ACC be worth it considering the upcoming 20-25m profit sharing that is coming? Being stuck trying to compete with the P 2 while making substantially less money. Or would it be better to stay G5 and not into the world of paying players? I think the ACC and big 12 maybe in big trouble in that they will be stuck with the power conference bills without the complete income of the power 2
