There are so many kids in the portal, some of them may find themselves in a worst situation than they left. They have the right to make bad decisions about their future. No sympathy from me.

Really SDSU just got a new PG transfer that people know. By the same person Try typing that again in English SDSU got a PG that is 2 team in his conference. People that follow college basketball. Not you. Will know who how is. Gave everyone a hint last year on Waters. Same scource. This is coming from the same scource that say Washington was guarantee to come here 2 years ago. You can look it up. Super embarrassing for the great insider sdcoug. Same scource that told AJ Duffy was coming. Again you can go back and look it up. So is my act old?

There are so many kids in the portal, some of them may find themselves in a worst situation than they left. Many will I had high hopes for Saunders at 6-8 230 he had the size, HS career, etc. He did not have the motor or love to mix it up inside. Like others have said there are hundreds of players to replace 6 pts 3 rebs game. The exciting part is his replacement may have some fight in him, had a coach who once said, you can pass too much, shoot too much, dribble too much, but Never rebound too much! Let’s get a high motor transfer in here like Davis from Tulane who was a beast inside at 6-8 same ht as Saunders.

He could have been a big part of our offense next year, a leader as a senior. So much of our success has been in keeping guys for 4 years. We're not Kentucky or Duke getting the best freshman, we need to be able to keep guys 3-4 years. A lot better chance of winning if you have a team of 20-22 year olds facing a team of 18-19 year olds.

Look, I am not going to say anything to disparage Elijah. Thanks for your time on the Mesa! But, facts are facts. He lost his confidence here as a starter. Said it himself. All of sudden when he's coming off the bench, he starts playing better. Somewhat strange. Lack of confidence in himself. Maybe he was experiencing a little bit of "imposter syndrome" as a starter. Anyway, for me, the unknown would have been what we could have expected of him next year as a probable starter.
These days it is easy come, easy go. Gotta get used to it unless/until the NIL/transfer portal becomes something different than what it is today. So, rather than lament the loss of Lamont, Micah, and Elijah (easy go), let's celebrate Coleman-Jones and Boyd (easy come), and those that are committed to next year's team...Heide, Byrd, Waters, and the rest of the squad.

I’ve already moved on. Was there ever a time when you felt Saunders, Butler, or Parrish was the best or even one of the better players on the court? LeDee yes. These guys no. It doesn’t matter what the reason is that they don’t want to be here. Go where you want, if it’s for the $, I don’t blame you it’s what the system has become. I would like to see schools immediately revoke scholarships once you enter the portal to prevent people from shopping around and then “grace” their original teams with their presence if there are lousy offers
As previous post I’m looking forward to the core players we have and that are coming in, both freshman, redshirts, transfers. It really looks like addition by subtraction. Byrd, Waters Heide BJ Gwath Compton Boyd JCJ and all the others I did not mention
Go Aztecs

Try typing that again in English "Some people have a way with words ... some people ... not ... have ... way." -- Steve Martin "Communicating with words is just sooo...sooo...sooo...I think you know what I'm trying to say" -- Steve Martin ***on an aside... My favorite all time line from Steve Martin... "I'm going to tell you a sure fire way to earn a million dollars in two very easy steps... ...first easy step...get a million dollars..."

After wasting moments of my life reading that back and forth “argument”, I think I’M ready for the damn portal. Just promise me you're not following LTB to the BYU board!

Elijah Saunders is just a guy, Ha averaged 20 minutes, 3.5 rebounds and 6.5 points. A nothing burger. With 2000 guys in portal you can replace him with grad. Name me one just one highlight for 23-24 for him. Him bombing 3s vs. Yale in the dance immediately comes to mind. I had high hopes for him next year, i.e. the chemistry between him and BFF Byrd as starters.

A lot of potential and Dutch loved his skill set. But I'm also trying to move on.

Exactly, this is the "new now" and things will be chaotic initially but then will simmer down some as players start realizing that the grass isn't always greener in a new program, nor will they get what they think they are promised. I will wish Butler, Parrish and Saunders the best in their future endeavors and hope the decisions they made work out for them. We've added three good ones in Jones, Boyd and McKinney so the fans from their previous schools are feeling a lot like we are. Boyd looks to be an improvement over Trammel defensively and likely on par at least with him offensively from the outside. Likely an improvement in the lane. McKinney looks to be quite similar to Butler with a better FT%. Jones is not an upgrade over LeDee, but I do hope that he and "Goon" will pair well together with an improved Heide. If I had my way, I'd concede some decent minutes to Compton and bring in a shooter for the 3 position. I'm thinking Byrd can play both the 2 and the 3. It's stupid to get upset with the kids. It isn't like they are giving guns to friends so they can kill someone or doing things that put SDSU in a bad light. They are making decisions based on what they think is best for them. Yes, it hurts and many on here are in the first 4 steps of the 7 steps of grief recovery.
