In all seriousness, a silly and selfish move, including what happened afterwards...to give ammo to the MAGA crowd to reinforce the theory of "political" prosecution. Let the evidence speak for itself - Not the campaign's smartest or finest hour. Yeah, De Niro should be the last guy to call out ANYBODY'S character since he lacks in that department, as well.

I'd personally rather hear from a lot of other people than another prick.

It's all about political appearances, but the MAGA crew is going to believe what they want, regardless of who shows up.

To me, and what I'm talking about, is whenever he talks about anybody else's character, and especially when he calls someone basically a dick, my first thought is, hey buddy, look in the mirror. That's it.

Based on the repeated outrage of people like Elise Stefanik and Byron Donalds, it looks like it achieved the mark, whatever they were going for.

Jury deliberations have begun.
So here's where we are: A former president, currently running for another term, is accused of falsifying business records (a long standing felony, backed by case law precedence) in New York. The falsification is said to have occurred to cover up a hush money payment to a former porn star that threatened the election chances of the former president.
Everybody angling to be Trump's VP is flooding the airwaves: "He was framed." "There's no crime here." "Witch hunt." Trump essentially admitted guilt already, confirming he was in an NDA with said former porn star and that the payment was "reimbursement"...but facts haven't mattered for a while to folks like Tim Scott, Elise Stefanik, Mike Johnson and a host of others.
Trump, if found guilty, will immediately appeal. Due process will keep him free (again) from seeing jail time, home confinement or any other substantive legal punishment. The appeal will almost certainly run past the election date, rendering him free from justice (again.)
Critical crossroads we are reaching as a country.

Because of incessant propaganda by Fox and Newsmax literally all day, we have a subsection of people who believe what Roberts said to be true. They also believe the judge didn't submit a copy of written instructions because he doesn't know what the crime being charged is. (It's New York law, written instructions are not mandated.) Now you have other people just repeating lies, like the judge split the jury into groups of four and other nonsense.
We can't be stupid as a society.

The just us mercan't jury instructions were illegal based on previous Supreme Court rulings where a jury verdict must be unanimous on each criminal charge. Most media and on YouTube are calling out mercan't for his illegal jury instructions. Jurors have the right to vote innocent when a case isn't proven. Pick 1 of 3 crimes is illegal. The purpose of this court hoax as aoc said is to keep President Trump from campaigning. That is illegal election interference. Before I got my current job, I took an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution. No judge will take that away from me to decide a court case as I see or not see in the bogus past the statute of limitations Trump case while I go on offense.

Man, it's bad when I can predict the response and know how formulaic it is, where you're absorbing "news" from. This is what we call a circular trap. The case you're referring to, Richardson v. United States, is a federal case, not a state matter. It does not apply to this case, as this case is a state case. "Pick one of three crimes" is not illegal at all. The jury must be unanimous in their verdict, but with regards to the specific underlying crime, they have to agree one occurred, which satisfies the condition. It doesn't matter which one, so long as one occurred and they unanimously decide that. This case is not keeping Trump from campaigning. He's held daily press conferences, which are basically campaign speeches. He's held multiple rallies on off days from court. I don't know what job you have, but I hope it comes with medical coverage to seek out a psychiatrist.

Stunner: Jury was set to be sent home at 4:30 Eastern, but at the 25th hour, they've reached a verdict after deliberations.

A return with this kind of expediency is likely not good news for the defense.

Nothing that happened in that courtroom today is good for this country.
Nothing.
