That's the 2nd time Daddy reached down to help his little Richard. He previously scheduled his Iona team and now his St John's team. What guy! Wait, how is this Pitino Sr. helping UNM? It's a home game at MSG for St. John's. UNM and Vegas got smart and are following the SDSU lead on OOC scheduling. Now if they'll just smarten up on 18 game Conference scheduling.

By the way, I'm impressed with Loyola Marymount (CA)'s moves in the portal; bringing in two scorers Jevon Porter (from Pepperdine 16 points + 6 rebs), MJ Amey (from SJSU 16 points + 5 rebs), and promising European wing in Jan Vida (formerly at UCLA and MVP of the 2023 Adidas Next Generation Tournament). With a 20-game MW schedule, it's evident we need to expand our scope beyond the Big West. It's unlikely that teams like USC, UCLA, Washington, and Oregon will schedule tough out-of-conference games against Big Ten teams. The same can be said for ASU, Arizona, BYU, Colorado, and their approach to the Big XII OOC. And there's potential for Stanford and Cal to follow suit in the ACC.
Considering the current landscape, it might be prudent to consider a short-term scheduling alliance with the WCC; considering teams like Gonzaga, St. Mary's, USF, Santa Clara, LMU, and now Oregon and Washington State. By having top teams face off against each other, we could elevate the level of competition. Additionally, securing a streaming contract with a focus on the West Coast could further enhance visibility and engagement. Nothing wrong with West Coast Prime time for Western cities, Seattle, Spokane, Portland, Bay Area, LA/OC, and San Diego. Apple or Amazon?

would guess that Dutcher is waiting to first see what are the quality of the teams SDSU might play and dates
Will SDSU play St Mary's again ? or did Dutcher find some additional opponents while he was at MM

I’m guessing it will be difficult to schedule any OOC games vs the Pac12 this year….

Sorry, knowing you give, by far, the most informative and objective posts of anyone on this board, I kind of thought that but on the the very slight chance that you didn't, I thought I'd offer my two cents worth.

According to John Rothstein of CBS Sports, the upcoming Duke versus Kansas showdown will be featured in The Players Era Tournament, a fresh in-season competition that promises lucrative NIL deals worth up to $2 million for the competing teams. The Aztecs are said to be one of 8 or 10 participating schools.
I find myself puzzled by the intricacies of the tournament's business model. I'm curious about several aspects: 1) whether there are multiple sponsors involved and how they contribute financially; 2) if there's a designated broadcast partner, how many games will be aired and what the commercial loads will look like; and 3) I'm intrigued by how such a substantial revenue stream can be generated for colleges, and who covers expenses such as travel, accommodation, meals, and facility fees?
It sounds to good to be true?

It sounds to good to be true? This may answer most questions. Each school participating in the inaugural The Players Era tournament will receive $1 million in NIL money, and the champion will receive an additional $1 million. These payments, funded by sponsors and other partners, are to be made to collectives and other NIL operatives with the requirement that all money eventually land with the players. Participating teams will also receive free travel, lodging and meals during their stay in Las Vegas.
While the field for the inaugural Players Era tournament remains to be determined, organizers are in discussions with Alabama, Duke, FAU, Houston, Kansas, Oregon, San Diego State, St. John's, Syracuse and Virginia.

This is a very good game, Cal could be quite good this year. Madsen is a very good HC and they’ve been doing very well in the portal.

CAL should be the home team considering how close this is to CAL. But, the good news is we travel for basketball and will dominate the crowd numbers. This will be an Aztec home game on 12/21.

Is there some sort of benefit of the faux home games vs Cal in San Jose & San Juan Capistrano?
Confused as to why they haven't done a true home & home.
