Seems like others in the conference are stepping up the competition level. UNLV signed a home and home with Memphis and New Mexico is playing St John's. That's the 2nd time Daddy reached down to help his little Richard. He previously scheduled his Iona team and now his St John's team. What guy!

For those who don't know the top line, Memphis basketball will travel to Las Vegas where it will face UNLV in a non-conference game during the 2024-25 season. The date is TBD. It will be the first game of a home-and-home UNLV Memphis series, with Memphis hosting the UNLVs in the 2025-26 season.

It's a home game at MSG for St. John's.

I am pretty sure there are lots of Big East teams that will play a MW team at home. This is not a gift from St. John's. I appreciate UNM actually taking on the challenge. Hopefully others follow suit and schedule these games as well. If you can't get into MTE, then pick a few games and go play on the road.

Honestly, I don't worry about UNLV or UNM raising their level of competition. Those teams are typically decent and get some good games.
The schools that hurt MGC are Wyoming, USU, Frestucky, etc. It seems like those are the schools that drag the conference rankings down. Or maybe, it is just in my head and I feel that way without looking at the SOS.

Very basic but very loud and clear for non P6 schools -
IF you want to get into MM and have a decent OOC - Dutcher has
Same should be true for other schools that expect at large bid for MM and If you want a decent seed
But do not wine when you do not get into MM or a bad seed -
Now for the schools that realize it is a very long shot to make MM - then you might want to do what you need to do to keep your team's confidence up and just try to get the W's when you can

Can't say I'm thrilled about our new OOC home game with Cal Baptist. They were 14-17 last year with a 201 NET and 190 in KenPom. Hoping that 22% season ticket increase gets us better home games than this. I know Gonzaga is a great one but don't want to see the other 3 or 4 OOC home games be nothing but California State schools, although I'm sure we'll throw Acker a bone and play LBSU.

Wonder if ST Katherine has an open date? If they don't, I'm sure Point Loma of Nazarene is available. Paying $400 for a pair of seats to those turkeys is beyond frustrating.

Need to jump from 180s/190s or worse to the 140s or thereabout, if not better. SJU will help. They're also in the 2nd tier tourney at the Acrisure (Invitational) with TCU, Santa Clara & a 4th to be named. That's pretty good. If we somehow opt out of our pod in the Acrisure Classic, which seems a longshot, maybe they take our spot along with USC, SMC & ASU? Agree on UNLV. They never have issues scheduling. They just need some continuity for once, allowing them to schedule tougher.

Hopefully, the MWC will reverse that decision, and go back to an 18-game schedule.

Something to consider, the California Baptist Lancers men's basketball team underwent a significant transition when they moved into Division I basketball in 2018. Previously competing at the NAIA level since 1969, they leaped NCAA Division II in 2010 and then to Division I in 2018, joining the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). The Lancers have appeared in 5 NCAA Division II Tournaments. Their combined record is 7–5. Under the leadership of head coach Rick Croy, the team has shown promise, achieving a six-year DI record totaling 101-84, with a winning percentage of 55%. Despite facing challenges, such as Kenpom's rankings of #190 and Net Rankings of #201 in the 2023/2024 season, the Lancers have demonstrated resilience and potential for growth in the competitive landscape of Division I basketball. We play CSU Bakersfield, Long Beach, Fullerton, UCR, UCSD, and Cal Baptist is about the same level. They are far better than Point Loma, St Kates, Occidental, and SDCC. But either way they are a Quad-4 game. Here's the NCAA Quad Breakout:* Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75. * Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135. * Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240. * Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-35

so is the 12/11/24 game at the start or end of Finals week ?
When do the Aztecs play the Zags ? and has the T been determined for SDSU
In addition when might the first game of MW be if there is a 20 or 18 game schedule
Think there is a schedule plan for SDSU so they might have a warm up opponent before a key match up

Katherine and point Loma ( or the Just signed cal baptist) and you get available dates.
