Do we need to replace Elijah? Should we be looking for another shooter (Wing or Guard), or red shirt a transfer for next season and develop them? We learned did learn that Shay will Stay. In my mind, our rotation players = 10. (Johnson, garbage time, & Majak, red shirt) Post Players 1. Miles Hiede 6’10” 225, Sophomore, SDSU 2. Jerald Coleman-Jones 6’10” 240, Grad Transfer, Middle Tennessee 3. Magoon Gwath 7’0” 195, RS Freshman, SDSU 4. David Majak 7’0” 190, Freshman (will likely RS), HS 5. Demarshay Johnson 6’10” 210, RS Junior, SDSU 6. Pharoah Compton 6’8” 220, Freshman, HS Wings7. Reese Waters 6’6” 210, RS Senior, USC 8. Miles Byrd 6’7” 185, Junior, SDSU 9. T aj DeGourville 6’5” 200, Freshman, HS Guards 10. Nick Boyd 6’3” 180, RS Junior, FAU 11. BJ Davis 6’2” 165, Sophomore, SDSU 12. Wayne McKinney 6’0” 190, Senior, USD If Compton can play some minutes as a true freshman with defense and rebounding then I think a #3 would be more desirable. |

Dutch made a point on the radio yesterday that they have started freshman in the past and that the incoming guys were capable. I think Pharaoh is going to get some serious minutes. |

Aztecs lost all 5 starters and 1 reserve from the rotation . so the team will need to reload with the transfers - returning players - hopefully quality HS players and red shirt
So a good amount of PT to battle for
will be interesting to see where Waters , Bryd are playing be it the 2 or 3 or both

Dutch also said they’re looking for a 4 that can possibly play some mins at 3. Those are pretty hard to find. One name that could be interesting is Max Agbonkpolo.

with all the new comers:3 transfers - 3 HS players - 1 red shirt = 7 players wonder if Dutcher asks for them to come to both Summer School sessions so they can also spend some time at the JAM Center and some time with the coaches get a little team chemistry going

this looks to be one of the least experienced teams Dutcher has had - with no returning starters so he had to bring in 3 experienced players from the Portal
In previous years there have been quite a few guys that have come back but this season Dutcher may have to do more practices starting closer to the very beginning learning the defensive schemes and offense -
Guys will have to make sure they are there as early as possible to start the process
Have to have a healthy Waters and strong play from the transfers to go along with a good amount of improvement / development of the guys coming back
Looks as though some of the other MW teams have a good amount of players coming back so could be a challenge for SDSU to get near the top of the MW and play in MM
Do hope the newer players are fast learners
In addition SDSU might need some of the First year players to get into the mix quicker then some of the others have . Great hope for Compton - MG and Taj also the other 7FT center
How much development will there be from Bryd - BJ Davis and Heide - returning players that will have to make a big step forward

I'm not sure what to make of this team yet until I see who we will sign with the last scholarship. IMO, we need an elite to good scorer at the wing position bad. Anyone know who we are going after at the wing position? The only thing that I'm looking forward to next year team is in the development of the Goon Squad.
