The next tv contract for MWC 2.0 is going to be sad. Im hoping those program that invest to get better will have incentives built into them. Not all programs in this conference is built differently. No matter what the new TV deal will be, Boise State will continue to receive more revenue than any other school even though they haven't done squat for the MWC since they came back from the Big East. The fact that this nonsense will go on in perpetuity pisses me off. Welcome back to the Boise State Welfare Conference.

Reality check: Without USC, UCLA, Washington, Oregon and Utah this will be a very mediocre conference. Sorry to break this to you guys, but this “new PAC” will just be the Mountain West plus. Wow, thanks for those pearls of wisdom genius. Either SDSU wallows in the existing MW for a few more generations or they work with the Pac4 to make something that is at least slightly better. Nobody is happy about the situation, but here we are.

Maybe Cal should just think about eliminating football and join the Big West. They are in a bad financial situation, haven’t done much at the D1 level in football or basketball in years and taking a low media deal where you already have to subtract off $10M unless you get UCLA to subsidize is pretty stupid. Cal is not a national brand. Even regionally they are on the lower end for athletics.
The ACC will lose their top members and it will open up the ability for the media partners to lower their deal. Not a good move.

I highly doubt SDSU admin is sitting around and doing nothing. The problem SDSU has, is we're a lowly valued pawn, on this chess board of realignment game, at this current stage. We were once, a pawn that was about to turn into a bishop, but things quickly fell apart on that front. Same goes for OSU and WSU. Not many good moves left. Just pawns. Stanford is a rook and trying to leverage its position best it can... Love your analogy but think the pieces should be reversed. Stanford's incredible $ war chest, excellence across the board in all the non-revenue sports and elite academic reputation give their piece a lot of more moves than just straight ahead or sideways. That sounds more like us. If Stanford is indeed a rook, then they deserve a hybrid classification of a rook that can also move diagonally. So ... a queen?

Whether or not you feel DLT and Wicker played (or mis-played) the cards they were dealt, the fact remains that both have unequivocally failed to deliver in getting San Diego State into a better conference despite more than a decade of on field success in football, 2 trips to the Sweet Sixteen and a Final Four title game appearance.
If they cannot remedy the situation almost immediately both need to be fired. Doesn't matter Wicker was AD of the Year, doesn't matter DLT went with the smart play. They failed completely at achieving the objective and must be held accountable.

The Big 12 's plan after they got their TV Deal - that included the same good money IF they added P5 schools - was to go after P5 schools = PAC Schools NOT G5 schools
So they continued with their Plan - Get P5 schools from the PAC
So neither SDSU or Fresno was going to get an Official unless the PAC stayed together
SDSU did not refuse an Invitation it Never Had - the Big 12 stayed their course and added the PAC school that the BIG 12 wanted
You can scream Select us SDSU all day and all night 24/7 but the Big 12 was and did the selecting of schools - as it is doing now - not wanting even more PAC schools
The Stanford might be talking to the ACC now - who knows what is real or made up as we learned - to make it work could the 4 gotten Pac Schools work together to reestablish a PAC with maybe with 8 -10 schools and have a relationship with the ACC - so smaller sports could save on travel - would ESPN be interested or some TV Network to offer any kind of decent deal ?
Aztecs do have games with OSU ( Football ) and Stanford ( Basketball ) so gives SDSU AD opportunity to chat about variety of topics

But that’s what we are good at. Sitting around and getting screwed. I highly doubt SDSU admin is sitting around and doing nothing. Stanford is a rook and trying to leverage its position best it can... the conferences and media companies are trying to digest what just happened… Going into Friday morning, for example, ESPN thought they were going to get some linear content from the Apple deal with the P10 (which was going to include SDSU)… Apple, ESPN and others are trying to figure out there needs and how to meet them… SDSU is active in talks with multiple conferences

They had no power in this situation, no way to affect the outcome. Two of the most powerful conferences and the two biggest sports networks got behind destroying the PAC. They could do nothing about that.

Why is Kliavkoff still around? Until the PAC4 replaces him I would not have anything to do with them. He has zero credibility and trust from me.

JMO going all in on the Pac12 may have not be the best course of action. Yeah… it looks bad now… I was on the P12 band wagon… for sure… shocked that it played out like it did… Having said that… I doubt the ACC can take Cal/Stanford… it would reduce payments to schools like Clemson and FSU and travel expenses would be a disaster… the only way it works is if there were 6-8 schools joining as a western wing of the ACC… you could even add Gonzaga… adding OSU, WSU, Cal, Stanford, SDSU and UNLV plus Gonzaga gives you 20 for football and 22 for all other sports… Still feels like a long shot… So that leaves the B12 a choice… cede the state of California to the B1G and the new BOR conference or take action and add SDSU and

Only if we can hold you personally accountable for other people's actions in your life where you have no control...perhaps you should lose you house if the neighborhood you live in, has a higher crime rate than before you moved there... As you pointed out...they have excelled in areas where they can affect some of the outcome (fielding competitive teams...building a new stadium on time and on budget...increasing the foundation and research dollars that SDSU's academic success is derived...putting SDSU on track for R1 status...etc) JD and ADLT definitely are not the problem with college sports...
