Yeah, I'm betting the mortgage that Stanford and Cal will want to be in a conference with Fresno and Boise. Their other option is...?? Stanford? Indy. If they can find a place for their Olympic sports. Cal? Hell.

realize it is going to be the PAC 4 who have the final say to keep the PAC name
agree with the hope that there be as FEW Mountain schools as possible especially the altitude
by the way maybe chat with TV / Media to see who they see as valuable - and possibly name the new MW commissioner as the new PAC leader
one thing the departure of those PAC schools could open up some of the other good Basketball T 's that the Aztecs like or want to play in
also could not hurt to hear what the AAC might be considering as to a modified West Division - do not remember what their TV Deal might be after the PAC option is fully explored
Aztecs are going to be playing OSU in football and Stanford in Basketball so might be a great opportunity for AZTECS AD to have a chat with them

PAC West Conference Washington State Oregon State Cal Stanford SDSU Fresno UNLV Boise Air Force Colorado State Hawaii/Gonzaga ( or Tulane if Gonzaga won’t join ) SMU That’s a nice tight strong 12 team conference. There is currently a DII PacWest conference, so naming could be confusing. PacWest schools are: Azusa Pacific, Biola, Academy of Art (SF), Chaminade, Concordia, Dominican, Hawaii Hilo, Fresno Pacific, Hawaii Pacific, Westmont & Pt Loma.

What a bleak, depressing future we seem stuck with... It's no different than the future we were looking forward to before USCLA bailed from the PAC. Same future we've had in the 60+ years I've been an Aztec. I'm an Aztec fan, not a particular conference fan.

Well they need an attitude adjustment really quick. Why the f x x x is Kliavkoff still around?

I don’t think mwc teams will have much say. PAC will invite who they want. I could see only 2 mwc teams and the rest in Texas. I could see pac 4, SDSU,unlv, SMU and Tulane to get to 8. Possible adds of csu/AFA and rice.
Seems like pac4 wants to keep it small and controllable, they’ve always resisted expansion. Plus, less money for media to pay. ESPN could pay 8 teams 10m-15m and save money, while getting more content instead of paying 2 schools to go to Big12 at 32m

We are assuming SMU even wants to be a part of this "new/old" conference...

We are assuming SMU even wants to be a part of this "new/old" conference... PAC: "Hey SMU are you interested in the new PAC?" SMU: "Tell us about the Media Plan?" PAC: "Kliavkoff is working on it." SMU: "That's a hard pass for us but thanks anyway."

The WCC is that chatter, but I don't think they'd want Stanford MWC is their best place but they would need to do it in FB. FB seems to be the deal breaker for school affiliation. It makes sense for Cal, Stanford OSU and WSU to merge with the MWC but I don't see the Cal schools doing so.

Who is going to pay $18M or more to join?
