Kliavkoff has it all under control. They should be down to 0 teams in about a week or two. I am looking forward to the truly innovative series of in-season home and home and home and home conference games between Stanford and Cal The Big Game over and over and over again!

What's crazy is that not only did George Kliavkoff f x x x up so bad for the Pac 12, but because his ineptitude continued on for so long and everything imploded so late in the Summer, it really f****d the top end of the Mountain West teams as well.
If everything imploded in May and there was only a $17 million exit fee, then SDSU, UNLV, Colo St., Fresno St. and Boise St. would have a much more tenable situation when trying to form their own conference from the best of what's rest.
Now that it's $34 million, it means that not only did SDSU not get a life raft to save itself, it got strapped down with $34 million pound anchors to a sinking ship.
Not only did SDSU get left at the altar, it got slapped with a $34 million restraining order.
Not only did SDSU end up first on the waiting list and not allowed into the party, the door got slammed in its face and now there's a $34 million cover charge.
Ok, enough analogies, you all get the point.

UNLV used to get a lot more from the state but it was scaled back. Not sure how much more we get than SJSU, but we also generate more revenue than them.

This article makes it sound doubtful that Cal/Stanford go to the ACC.

At this point, even IF Cal/Stanford got an invite to join the B1G or whatever... the 'good news' is that it doesn't look like Oregon State or Washington State have any option other than to rebuild the PAC -- with the benefit of the rather large sum of $$$ the PAC has from NCAA tournament & football playoff credits. They will have to invite three to five or so MW schools, and a few AAC schools... along with seeing what type of money a media partner (most likely Apple?) would come up with. $10m per year per school should be enough for MW & AAC schools to move, since all other doors seem closed (if indeed the Big12 is done expanding for now).
This could be the last bit of musical chairs until the ACC approaches the end of its media deal, at which point the B1G and SEC will probably take a couple ACC schools each.

I still believe we may get a call up to the B12 if several things break our way in the coming years. Yeah, not good odds, but we still remain attractive, provided we continue to have access, draw fans, and the media money returns. Right now, media money has ran out.

They will find a way to soft-land these two. Notre Dame is free to join the ACC or B10 to help make it happen for their pals at Stanford and Cal. Put up or shut up.

That's just an excuse they love to use. Watch the numbers that'll be offered when the the 2026 College Football Playoff bidding comes out. They're just using tightwad business practices at the moment, but they've got plenty of money in their coffers, believe me.
