So are there just no rules at all when it comes to NIL? Any team can contact any player and offer money, even when the player is not officially in the Portal? This is considered tampering in professional sports. This whole NIL thing is completely ridiculous. It’s the Wild West out there. Thanks for nothing, NCAA! Couple things: 1) Team's do not offer NIL money, NIL is nothing more than allowing amateur athletes to get paid by outside sources for sharing their name, image, or likeness. The NCAA has no jurisdiction over that. If McDonalds wants to pay Drew Timme 500K to do a commercial for them, then he is now allowed to accept that. If McDonalds wants to pay him to do a commercial for them, but ONLY if he transfers to Duke they can do that. But that isn't Duke doing anything, ergo its outside of the NCAA's control. 2) Why is anyone against NIL? A few years back all I heard was complaints about athletes not getting paid their fair share; the whole starving student athlete nonsense (which was a farce but I digress). Now, athletes are getting paid a ton. On the other end of the spectrum, were those who support a free market capitalist system; doesn't get much more free market than the Wild West situation we got going on here. Unfortunately it's one of those "Be careful what you wish for" mantras that came true.

Perfect example of gullible board guys taking some half-assed opinion of someone and running with it. So many other idiots then pile on about how KJ shouldn't come there if he's "afraid" and they're glad he's not coming after all. What a bunch of morons. Maybe: 1) AZ gives him more $ 2) he likes being way closer to home 3) he gets more playing time at AZ 4) he realized how much Kentucky underperforms every year given all the 5-star studs they draw 5) he's worried he'll have to marry a cousin if he moves there

They don't have the NIL pact big enough to get in any bidding wars, and instead focus on the whole "we provide you with the best tools & system to get you to the NBA". Plus, he's a lock to start & play 25+ minutes at UA. IMO, the only reason people thought he was going to Kentucky was based on 1 instragram post with Keshad & Cal's rings. Nothing else. Keshad loves social media, and his family likes to be spoiled on campuses, not that there's anything wrong with that. They really loved their USC & Okie trips as well. Keshad's a perfect fit at UA & they'll be a top 15 team with him. They're trying to improve significantly defensively, and with him & who else they've added they're well on their way.

It happens in every fan base.

I figured Keshad wasn't going to Ketucky when I saw another former Aztec, Chad Baker-Mazara, tweet that Ketucky contacted him. Looks like Ketucky will miss out on both.

I think Chad Baker-Mazara might think the trade-off for missing the deep MM Aztec run this year might be offset by the probable significant NIL$ from Auburn and being much closer to home. And I bet Auburn's Academic protocols might be a bit more lenient than SDSU's.

I think the only one I'm familiar with is that the scholar-"athletes" there have to make sure their crayons are all sharpened for their homework.

SDSU coaches have known he’s going to U of A for a couple days now. Up until Wednesday, KU looked likely. That's from the press & social media perspective.

Good luck to Keshad. He was a good player for us and a good ambassador for our program. He was a good student. He just wants to grow and try another place. Has anyone here changed jobs and moved to a different city? You can do that and still like your old company and where you used to live. I'm sure Keshad feels that way about SDSU. He's an Aztec for life in my book!

Kentucky "bad blue" blood, but I haven't seen anything official from Keshad. Kentucky Krazy is delusional. Those "Dawgs" of his were: 8-16 three years ago lost in the 1st round of MM two years ago lost in the 2nd round this season after losing 11 games in the regular season. Those "Dawgs" did all of that with a $22,000,000 annual men's BB budget and a double figure number of 5-Star recruits. I think he meant Dogs.
