What a debacle. He had other chances to shoot it down prior to this. Weak. I don't think Biden decides when to shoot down the balloon. Perhaps he listens to his military advisors first and goes on their recommendations...using something called critical thought. An outraged (generally manufactured) TV pundit has the easy job of just sewing outrage for ratings. Now, if we know the inside timing and analysis of the military experts who made the final recommendations, perhaps then we could have this discussion. |

I'm more than sure Biden let the professionals assess the balloon, its makeup, power source, capabilities and damage to civilians/infrastructure before taking action...of course those who are ignorant of this information and/or have political agendas...do not have to take these things into consideration...because all they run...is their collective mouths.... |

Actually thinking about the military guys thinking it was prudent to wait until the POC was over the Atlantic ocean. The balloon and debris landed in 42 feet of relatively calm ocean. If they had dropped it over the Aleutian islands the sea would have been colder, much deeper and the bottom much rougher. In addition the currents and tides in the Aleutians are fierce. JMO

Seems pretty obvious: People live in Montana. The balloon was the size of several buses and reportedly 200 feet tall. It's a balloon, not an ICBM and wasn't an intelligence threat or national security threat. |
