Well for the zero to one person who trust your takes, that's perfect corroboration. For the rest of us, clarify and dissemble all you want, but you got caught trying to pawn off your belief as fact. The answer to the question is simple, can you provide a link...no you can't. That's his story and he's sticking to it. Apologies to country music fans everywhere. More like that’s his tale and he’s sitting on it.

Too bad it's not page 420. Given the date, that not only would have been a coincidence, it might have explained a lot of the posts in this thread.
Not mine. I don't imbibe. I'm pure of heart and soul. And my wife would kick my butt.

What's the over under? Let's set it at 600? Over/under for what? The TV deal? A PAC 12 decision on expansion? If they don't expand, a Big 12 decision on expansion? The day you know your fate -- good or bad? The day Yoda dies? The day that the last person posts in celebration or anger of how it all comes out? What's the trigger?

You consider yourself to be a visionary now? We will now refer to all Yoda posts as being Yodaganda. Swami Yodaganda, soothsayer and Zen prognosticator!

Interesting article. It is hard to tell if what he is saying is factual or speculative -- or where one starts and the other stops. But it is certainly optimistic from your standpoint... EDIT: I read it again and have a few thoughts… The article is specific as to some of the details of what is going to happen, which seems to imply that he has some insider knowledge, but he’s also relying on what four other outsiders have told him. And for such a specific plan, some of it makes no sense. ~ Fresno, Boise and UNLV will remain on the PAC’s shortlist? Really? Does anybody think that even one of us is on the PAC’s shortlist? ~ No travel partner for SMU? It makes more sense that the PAC would add Tulane or Rice rather than, for example, UNLV. ~ As much as I would love to be in a west coast conference with the current PAC 10 – assuming they all stayed (and that’s a big assumption, given that he has Amazon streaming the conference’s tier one rights) – plus SDSU and Boise, I don’t think it would be a particularly competitive conference. There isn’t enough talent in such a compact area for 16 P-5 schools to be competitive on a national level. Another reason to go to Rice and/or Tulane. ~ He passes over the streaming issue as saying that the PAC will soon come to embrace it but offers no evidence to support this change of heart. Its kind of a critical component of his whole outcome and a couple of the Presidents are on record as it being a deal breaker for them. He’s just sort of wishing it away in order to get his plan to work. So I call bulls.hit. This isn’t an insider providing insight into what is likely to happen. It’s just another writer speculating.

This 30% stuff is like the trick math questions you see on twitter and it ends up with people arguing over the order of operations. I agree with you though. Indeed. Another way to look at it would be if you had a whole pizza with 10 slices, and took 7 slices for yourself and left the rest on the table. In this example, you'd have literally left 30% (3 slices) on the table. This would align with those that are coming up with the $45 million dollar figure. In your senario, the pizza was bought. The thing that exists is pizza. It is the basis of the calculation. So yes, I buy a pizza and that is 100% of pizza. Conversely, I sign a contract and that is 100% of the contract. You are helping prove the point. Percentage of the tangible thing that exists. That's how it works. The B12 didn't have a contract at 45 that was reduced by 30%. They have a contract that (some say) could have been 30% higher. There is no confusion over this. There are not two sides.

To appreciate the PAC's glacial advance on this Sisyphean attempt to reinflate it's stature and value, a re-working of the tired, but accurate, paradox comes to mind:
An irresistible TV reality, meets an immovable ego.

This guy loses all credibility when he mentions Fresno and Boise St as potential PAC adds. No way they get in with their academics. UNLV may, but I don't think in this round. They just don't offer much athletically and their academic reputation isn't very good.

This guy loses all credibility when he mentions Fresno and Boise St as potential PAC adds. No way they get in with their academics. UNLV may, but I don't think in this round. They just don't offer much athletically and their academic reputation isn't very good. UNLV squandered every opportunity and advantage they have had. They were a growing media market with a national brand basketball program. Even though Football drove the bus, they were always advanced in expansion because of their Basketball Brand and football market potential. Those advantages are now gone. UNLV basketball has been mediocre at best for a decade. Their football team has aspired for mediocre for decades. And during this time, the city has transformed into a Pro Sports Town. NHL is there, NFL is there, MLB may soon be there, and they are trying hard for an NBA Franchise. UNLV is now SJSU without the P5 competition in town. They had a window from 1990 to 2010 to elevate themselves. In my opinion, their window has closed. Will, it open up again like it has for SDSU as the NBA and NFL left town? Maybe but not likely. Will pro sports reenter SD and have the same impact, not likely. The Clippers and Lakers will stop any NBA team from trying to enter SD and the Chargers and Rams are going to stop any NFL team from moving into SD. JMO.
