Same. I may catch part of a big time regular season game but that's about it. I have no interest in the bowl games or CFP so I'm surely not going to watch a random Oklahoma State or Michigan game. I enjoy the Aztecs, that's all. At some point a super, super conference is coming and the bottom of the ACC, Big 10, and even SEC will be hanging with us. Same. Unless it's a MWC game...generally speaking. Or if a team is beating BYU, then I'll switch over a become a fan of said team for the rest of the game. I just watch my teams and that's about it. I haven't been able to watch sports in general for several years now, college or pro.

If you were the PAC and you were trying to stay relevent and attract eyeballs and $$, you would have to raid B12. You would have to put the academics behind the TV contract tho. What if the PAC tried to kill the B12 with an end game of something like
WEST-UW, WSU, UO, OSU, Cal, Stan, SDSU, UNLV EAST-AZ, ASU, CU, UT, Baylor, TCU, OKSt, either KSU or BSU
That's pretty good in pigskin and MBB, markets and eyeballs.

From what I've been reading looks like there's a pretty good chance the Pac 12 will go the way of the Big East and Southwest Conference. ACC could be next at getting some schools poached. The big boy table just got drastically smaller conference-wise.

How about La Verne? And Shirley Those two schools need to merge, like William and Mary did long ago.

Once you mentioned csun and lmu the post lost credibility. Wouldn't be the first time that a power conference picked up a crappy/mediocre program in a market that they were looking to expand into. For real, if LMU was part of the PAC-12, people in LA might go to see them play CAL/Stanford/Oregon etc. They also might watch it on TV. Especially when you consider that they would get much better from PAC-12 revenue. This isn't the NFL, you can't take a good team in a small market and move them into a big market. The only way for the PAC-12 to try to get a piece of the LA media market is to pick up an LA college. It's the second biggest media market in the country. Watch them play what? Jacks? Have u been there? 6500 undergraduates. No room for a stadium the size Aztec Bowl. Not sure 10% of Angelenos know where LMU is.

Been there for an Aztec basketball game and lived for years in Marina del Rey. LMU is not moving anywhere. They have no facilities outside of an old high school basketball gymnasium and surrounded by buildings not owned by the University. It is a nice campus but they would be like adding Point Loma to the MWC in my opinion which doesn't amount to much.

As for snooty, it's Cal & UCLA (who doesn't count now).

I get the pessimism, I really do. We can never have anything nice. That being said, if the PAC tried to expand a year ago with UCLA and USC still there we would not have even been an afterthought. Our only option was praying to the universe the Big 12 wanted us, and it was always a long shot. That is no longer our only option, and any of the available possibilities today are better than staying put in the MW. Worst case, we stay put in the MW and are exactly where we’ve always been. House money right now just gotta play the cards right and hope for some luck on the river.

He’s quoted in the UT today. Nothing earth shattering at all. But, I’ve gotta believe he’ll be quoted a lot in the coming weeks as the PAC is on the clock.
