Yoda, In so many of your posts you seem to drive home the point that the Aztecs have yet to get an invite to the Pac and if it doesn't happen by 30 June the exit fee doubles to over 30 mil. What do you have to say about Fresno, in spite of the Fresno mayor begging every Big 12 member, Fresno still does not have an invite to the B 12. It seems the same 30 June 30mil fee also apply to Fresno. Are you worried about Freson's timely invite? Am I worried? Sure, but not by the June 30 deadline. My understanding is that Yormark has set a late June deadline of his own, after which he won't consider any PAC schools. If that's true then we don't have to worry about the doubling of exit fees; we wouldn't anyway as we'd likely delay entry a year. What I'm worried about for us is the PAC disintegrating too soon / rapidly -- leaving us as maybe one of eight schools going after four Big 12 invitations. That I worry about. But if they take Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado, I think we'd be the fourth. (Or, with the taking of the Arizonas, it wouldn't surprise me if they gave you guys one last hour to reconsider your loyalty to the PAC. I would think that a firm P-5 offer in hand would have to cause you to pause and think about how much you are risking if the PAC 7 (after the Big 12 takes three) doesn't expand or falls apart altogether.) And if the PAC stays together, I still think that the Big 12 will invite us. So I'm confident about every plausible scenario except one -- an uncontrolled stampede from the PAC. That one I worry about.

Crow: Two words in that article: "final stages." That was less than a month ago. Robbins: "close to a deal." Again, less than a month ago. Yada, yada, yada. Again, these remarks are within the last month. This isn't someone buying a new car, this is a deal worth a billion dollars and involves at least two parties new to collegiate athletics. The B1G still hasn't finalized their media deal due to the paperwork and they are dealing with FOX and CBS who have established templates used in such deals. The B12 is doing their work publicly which is why these ADs and presidents are making comments to refute these unfounded rumors. The B12 is desperate. If they don't get PAC schools now, they look to be in some trouble come 2030 when their deal expires. You are not responding to inside information, you are responding to what you are hearing publicly, right? Hell, you dont even know the name of the PAC commissioner, it is KLIAVKOFF. Here is something I came across while playing golf today. It is from Tony Altimore which is worth the read: Do you believe that the P12 media has been “in the final stages” for over a month? And will continue to be “in the final stages” until late spring or early summer, or perhaps even longer? President Robbins said “within the next couple of weeks”, it’s already been more than that and all indications from the P12 itself is that they are currently not close to a deal. So why the attempt to spin the truth - they were told that the P12 had a deal and then Kalashnikov couldn’t deliver. There is no deal, and it’s not even close. Altimore is a P12 shill, but still a worthwhile read to get the P12 booster pov. I’ll go back to his interview with the SoM - In that interview he clearly slipped up when he said that he believes 1 or 2 more teams will be leaving the P12. The other stuff is all a diversion, but he’s good at it. Tell me this, what is the PAC deadline? When must a deal be done and why? Is it just because you are tired of waiting? Robbins doesn't speak for the entire conference and he said he "thought" a deal would be done in a "couple of weeks." He was giving his private opinion which was non-specific anyway. If you are going to refer to an interview to refute my post at least provide a link to it.

I have a "Do NOT feed the trolls" warning in every one of my posts. Just look under my avatar. It doesn't seem to have done a lot of good. But then, even I ignore my own warning from time to time.

Technically, there is no legal or moral requirement, that I know of, for the PAC 12 to ever sign another joint media contract. And the way that things are going, it may never happen 🙃. Most on AM are familiar with the Sons of Monty - if you’re not, you should check it out.

You’re saying the B12 has a drop dead date and will start taking the likes of FSU instead of waiting on possible P12 schools? What an insulting question. "...the likes of..." And the answer is, I'm not certain. It came from a source during a discussion about what happens to Fresno's efforts to join the Big 12 if the PAC's TV deal takes until after July 1. I didn't consider it hugely important because there was a solution either way -- if it is true, then this journey will be finished by June 30 and, if it is not, then we delay our entry a year. Recall, I don't trust even my own sources but once the option to delay our entry was out there, it didn't matter to me if the information was true or not. We were in either way. I didn't report it because I wasn't sure if it was true -- recall that my next sentence began with "If that's true" -- and I didn't know exactly what it meant. Was it a real "drop dead" threat -- and the conference would fill all four slots with Fresno, Tulane, Memphis and UConn (for example) or was it a warning to Arizona, Colorado and whoever else they were talking to that they might add Fresno State and put further additions off until the waters cleared. The warning in that being that if the TV contract was bad, whoever they were talking to might lose "their spot" to other PAC schools. Today, I think the latter meaning is more likely to be true than not as at least Arizona and Colorado are reported to be actively engaging with the Big 12. I don't think it is a true drop dead date, however -- more of a push to resolve this matter before it spills over into a new school year.

Understand that people want things to happen NOW but these are Big Business Deals and sometimes this can take some patience
Bottom Line is as it has been the TV Deal for the PAC
Two sides are definitely drawn and each side will throw out there as many alternative facts by numerous Insiders or Experts as possible to frame things the way that will assist their side of the Deal
in addition - people will do as they always do reach out for comments that strictly reinforce their side of the issue and ignore those that oppose their side .
Try to avoid drinking the Kool Aid or Shiny objects and wait until there are actual transactions made and reported - especially when every one is trying to scoop others

They are the ones who came out, with no evidence, that the PAC would only be getting $22M. I've read that came from someone who said that is what ESPN will guarantee P5 schools who join the PAC. You may as well be quoting Swaim and MHver3.

If Fresno is "in either way," why is the B12 waiting? Why not sign you now and "seed the field?" Conferences don't normally piecemeal their expansion announcements. When the announcement comes, I would expect 2-4 teams, plus perhaps a couple of non-football playing schools. And for clarity, I'm not stating that Fresno is in as a matter of fact. It's an opinion. I'm confident, but not stupid.

The next thing you're saying along with the Zonies and Col., you're in and SDSU could ride your coat tails in. Now you're saying Fresno doesn't have to be worried about the 30 mil exit fee because they wouldn't exit for another year. Did you ever consider a strong possibility that if the Pac lost schools to the B12 and the B12 still wanted a foot in Calif. that they would likely prefer SDSU's larger so- cal market to the valley market? You're just all over the place, Fresno's in, their maybe in, their in but maybe not this year. You say your sources are reliable one day, and the next you say you don't believe them. It's starting to appear a little OCD.
