Sure hasn't been "fine" since arriving in San Diego … his mediocre slash line as a Padre doesn't suggest that he's fine. In fact, looking at his history, he's pretty much playing far below his historical capabilities right now. His OPS is almost 100 points below his career average, and his slugging is 80 points lower… I'd call that struggling. It's not like he had to adjust to the National League. Whether it's his problem or the team's or a combination, I haven't seen much to cheer about since he joined the Padres. Haven't seen much evidence so far that he's making the Padres a better team, either. Paper tigers don't count.

Similar WAR, both low slugging percentage infielders. Frazier get's his WAR from OBP, Kim gets it from defense. My point is that now, if we get a slugging first basemen, Kim and Frazier's playing time are both greatly reduced. And I also think that Kim's bat improves if he gets more regular playing time. He needs reps. So yeah, Frazier is "fine". Not exciting

We have a lot of "fine" players on our team right now.
Frazier Kim Pham Myers O'Grady (I think he is a 2 WAR player as a starter, he has about 100 PA's in 3 major league seasons with good AAA numbers, only 60 PA's last year) Profar
So yeah I get your point about going out and getting a 4 WAR slugger.
Ryan, who do you think we go after?
