You know Caratini's still catching Darvish, and seems to me Musgrove & Snell are locked on Nola. Not sure when Campu would get a start? Don't think I'd want to mess with Paddack right now, and with days off I just don't see the opportunities being there for Campu. Caratini really should only catch Darvish with how awful the bat has been. Campusano's played a bit of first base as well in the recent weeks and is absolutely on fire (again) after a rough first month. I think there's plenty of room to carry three catchers and upgrade the bench. I would be interested to see if Campusano's defense behind the dish has improved

He's likely never going to be an above average receiver, but the offense is so much better than what Caratini can provide. He's truly been awful this season.

That is some very generous official scoring...

That is some very generous official scoring... Guessing you're talking about Profar's terrible fielding?

Not his spot.Just one more head-scratch in a season full of them. I mean I know *why* he's there - Because Tatis is in the outfield. With the team basically instructing him not to dive, steal, or do anything that would create another shoulder separation. It's just unfortunate because he's actually been useful at first and in the outfield. I don't think the play today was that bad, just caught him on an in between hop and his throwing motion just isn't smooth.

Not as big a problem if they hadn't brought Frazier on board - since he's also competing for time at 2nd and OF. His acquisition may end up helping somewhere down the road, who knows? But right now, it's just another head-scratcher. If anything, he's created more problem s than he's solved. Not his fault at all, but that's the bottom line.

You should always add talented players to your team at below market prices when you can. The question that should be asked is why players that come over to San Diego immediately struggle to produce.

Hosmer can't make a play in the 6th inning tonight, which ends up leading to 3 runs for the Dodgers.

I knew you would be shocked. Positively floored that he still is terrible. But his .270 batting average and his clutch.....nevermind.

Nope. He just couldn't handle a throw from Kim. Just curious. Was it in the dirt and didn't pick it? He didn't stretch, which would have made it a shorter throw. Ball popped out of his glove. Wasn't an overly difficult play.

Popped out of his glove, but no error? Maybe it popped out after he was safe and the real issue was the lack of stretch? Just noticed you posted a video.

Kim was dismayed because his part of the play was spectacular.
