Monster homer tonight and ended up being huge! Yep. That was a bomb!!! Ended up being pivotal. Definitely had a rough last few weeks, so a much needed boost there for the offense. Thought it was interesting they removed him on defense for Profar late.

You just can't help yourself can you?

Still had bench options available though. Glad Melancon was able to nail it down.

It worked out, which is all that matters. This kind of stuff will definitely be more important as they enter the stretch run.

The primary difference is in the marathon he lost a player to injury which started the whole substitution process. If Myers doesn't get injured it's a non-issue. This time he actually had his full compliment of players.

I'd expect Luis Campusano up tomorrow to hopefully shed more of Caratini's playing time.

Not sure when Campu would get a start? Don't think I'd want to mess with Paddack right now, and with days off I just don't see the opportunities being there for Campu.

Caratini really should only catch Darvish with how awful the bat has been. Campusano's played a bit of first base as well in the recent weeks and is absolutely on fire (again) after a rough first month. I think there's plenty of room to carry three catchers and upgrade the bench.

Tingler was out-managed by fricken Dave Roberts. Hopefully all of that changes this month.

Campusano has been lighting it up lately, I read on twitter this morning. He's hitting over .300 since June 1st. Once he adjusted to the league and the older arms, he's been on a tear.

Let's see how he does back in the big leagues. Kinda does when you skip Double-A entirely at 22. He's hit at every level he's played at and most evaluators are in agreement that he will hit for average with some power production. You can still discern from inflated stats, even in Triple-A.

Then let's see what he does up here this time. He's not coming up. Didn't think he would, and good to see they went with bullpen help instead. Much more useful overall. If the starters continue down their current path, and end up consistently taking us to the 6th or 7th then that may change.
