You have made a good case for the charge of insensitivity and meanness of the part of Rush Limbaugh. To be clear, I was not a huge fan of his. He was not a cult figure as far as I am concerned.
However, and this is a pretty important point, Pelosi, as Speaker of the House, has had FAR from power to affect the people of this country than Rush ever had. Rush did not prevent the election of Bill Clinton, Barrack Obama, and Joe Biden.
Nancy Pelosi for months single-handedly stopped passage of a bill designed to help millions of people suffering from the affects of Covid-19. Her reason for doing so was a political move to help her party win an election. I will not say more about her since to do so would definite be low road.
AzWm Outright fabrication. The House passed a bill last May. It sat on Mitch's desk. Completely irresponsible to perpetuate this and to even draw a comparison. Rush Limbaugh was THE voice of the conservative base and established norms. He had more power and influence than Nancy Pelosi ever will. Did you just pick a random Democrat to try and draw from? Silly. www.npr.org/2020/05/15/856095507/house-passes-3-trillion-coronavirus-relief-bill-that-has-dim-futureIs this a joke re: covid?? RL " its just the common cold folks". Is it a coincidence that there is such a big dichotomy between right and left who would get the vaccine?? How many Rush listeners are still sitting on stock plies of hydroxychloroquine?

Rush Limbaugh was an iconic and pioneering personality in American Political Talk Radio.
He was a game changer, the best ever.

Rest in peace Rush Limbaugh. I didn't like some of the things he's said, but agreed with many more. I'm choosing to take the high road, and not doing any bashing. Some people are classless. I appreciate your position John. Too bad Limbaugh did not take the high road when people died. A very fair point.

You don't have to state your moral righteousness, we aren't keeping score. If you agreed with him on any of the topics I covered, then....that's unfortunate. People who deserve the high road get the high road. Rush isn't one of them. I figured you'd probably respond this way. Take it how you want, but I can express how I feel and why I feel that way, just like you have. Get a grip of yourself, Ryan. You can continue to be a hard ass and Mr. Tough Guy, but it simply looks bad on you.

RIP, if you meet your maker as Christians profess, may you receive the benefit of the doubts, something you struggled with in your dealings with those children of lesser gods.
Peace!

I'm saying it's unnecessary to call people classless when you can't come to terms with a fair critique of an incredibly poor human being. I don't feel the need to put the man on a pedestal.

Nancy Pelosi has nothing to do with this. If she was a vile human, I'd feel the same way. We are not obligated to canonize or eulogize people just for the sake of doing it.

Rush established and led a whole media sector (Conservative Talk Radio) for three decades and that achievement is huge. He started when almost all of the media was center left (save for a few news papers and magazines) and no one was giving voice to the right. His format encouraged similar political talk shows (radio, TV, Podcasts, etc) from all political perspectives. He was a polemic and threw shade on his political opposition on purpose. Many on the right and left (Jon Steward and Bill Maher, for example) followed suit and did exactly the same (review current events and blast the opposition with that info). I have read anti-Rush books like "Rush is a big fat idiot" and Franken could not seemingly differentiate between mockery/satire from statements offered as fact. Not that he was a perfect man (who is?) but the loyalty of his listeners is his real legacy.
As a conservative, he rarely said anything new for me but I will give him credit on one occasion. The day that O.J. Simpson was arrested, he predicted that the subsequent trial was going to descend into claims of racism. I thought he was crazy at the time knowing how O.J. was a popular culture icon with everybody regardless of race. Perhaps Rush was more in tune with jury nullification and how it was just starting to be used at the time but he called it correctly nonetheless.
With him gone, perhaps the left's cancel culture will redouble their efforts to try and silence conservative media starting with talk radio. They certainly couldn't do that when Rush was alive.

If you do an audit there are way more right wing conservative radio host hacks than liberals. Medved, Monson and the multitude of conservative shills won't be silenced. JMO

William, you knew what was going to happen when you posted about Limbaugh. Its pretty close to a troll. At one point he was pretty close to being the most despised American by large percentage of the public. I realize Limbaugh was a cult figure for the Right. Nancy Pelosi is just a person for the left. Fire away, Nancy Pelosi is not on the airwaves insulting peoples intelligence each day. No one would care. ps, remember when Limbaugh accused Micheal J. Fox of exaggerating his Parkinson's? There are 100's of examples... I think Nancy Pelosi is hated mostly for her politics, not because she accuses people of faking illness , or making fun of others after they die. You have made a good case for the charge of insensitivity and meanness of the part of Rush Limbaugh. To be clear, I was not a huge fan of his. He was not a cult figure as far as I am concerned.
