I can understand the negativity towards Rush. I, myself, have mixed feelings about the man. But, come on. He's dead! If you cannot say something nice about him at this moment, fine. Then just say nothing.

Then just say nothing. AzWm Remembering someone for being an awful human being is not a vilification of someome's character, it's an admission of acknowledgement. Would you praise Adolf Hitler, for example? This whole narrative of "If someone dies we are forced to overlook their obvious poor qualities as a person" is nonsense. Condolences to his family on their loss. |

You are welcome to your opinion. I can understand that.
On the other hand, a number of his close friends an associates have, if nothing else, praised him for his generosity and good nature when dealing with people on a personal basis. Or does that count for nothing?

I'm making a general analogy to dispel this notion that we have to celebrate everyone who dies. Rush Limbaugh was a racist, homophobic, insensitive and soulless human being who mocked victims of suicide, AIDS, Parkinson's Disease, Native Americans and hordes of other categories of marginalized people. If you want to celebrate that, consider how that reflects om you. Here are examples of Rush's character : |

You mean like making fun of Jerry Garcia when he died "Just another dead Hippie". Because Jerry had addiction issues..then Limbaugh goes out and doctor shops for oxycontin cause he's addicted! Telling coal miners Hillary was stealing their jobs so they'd stay pissed off and tune back in the next day. A real human being would have told them the truth..that natural gas and other market forces were pushing coal towards extinction. The coal executives knew it. At least those guys could have started the path to alternative training for other careers. Limbaugh was a shyster..just like the orange one. |

At one point he was pretty close to being the most despised American by large percentage of the public. I realize Limbaugh was a cult figure for the Right. Nancy Pelosi is just a person for the left. However, and this is a pretty important point, Pelosi, as Speaker of the House, has had FAR from power to affect the people of this country than Rush ever had. Rush did not prevent the election of Bill Clinton, Barrack Obama, and Joe Biden.
Nancy Pelosi for months single-handedly stopped passage of a bill designed to help millions of people suffering from the affects of Covid-19. Her reason for doing so was a political move to help her party win an election. I will not say more about her since to do so would definite be low road.

AzWmOutright fabrication. The House passed a bill last May. It sat on Mitch's desk. Completely irresponsible to perpetuate this and to even draw a comparison.
