I have been thinking about all the great basketball players we have had since Steve Fisher and Dutch took over our program. Who are your favorite players of all time if you had to choose 2 or 3?
For me, my favorites are Matt Mitchell and Kawhi Leonard because of their incredible skills and work ethic. I am going to miss Matt when he leaves.
Who do you pick for your favorites?

Richie Williams. To me, he ushered in winning at SDSU. There was one game in particular that I remember where we were playing at UNLV. We had had a lead for most of the game but started throwing it away in (then) typical Aztecs style - turnovers, hurried shots, etc. The crowd was getting into it and it was a perfect time for a PG to try too hard to get his team back into the game. But he didn't rush the ball up the court, didn't push the issue and he didn't get rattled. I remember his calmness under that storm - he'd just walk the ball up the court and start the offense. We settled down and won the game.
Billy White. The embodiment of Aztecs fight. If AG and Billy White were ever against each other for a loose ball, the ball would get torn in half. Maybe he let his emotions sometimes get him into trouble, but no one had more 'want' than Billy White.
Malcolm Thomas. There was a lot of excitement and optimism when he and Tyrone Shelley transferred to SDSU. But then we had a game very early in the season at St. Mary's. We were getting drilled and while most people were hanging their heads, Malcolm Thomas just played one play at a time - he kept playing hard and got on himself when he made a bad play. He was just a workman - totally genuine in his effort. Side note: he used to say his daughter's name at every free throw, "Micaela". When my wife found out about this, she started saying 'Micaela' at every Aztecs free throw. We still do it (with one finger in the air, of course) - kinda crazy!

Gotta say Kawhi but Randy Holcomb is up there for me as he was the first legit D1 stud Fisher enticed to come here.

1. Billy White - I know Gay and Shelton came in the same year with him, but to me, he's who I think of as being the first piece of the era that took our program to the next level. The launchpad of the "prototypical Aztec" that our program is built on now.
2. Brandon Heath - other than the stats that we all know he put up, he was "the guy" on the first Aztec teams that I remember watching with my dad when I was growing up. Been an Aztec fan and alumni ever since.
3. Malachi Flynn - from little/uncertain expectations to #4 in the nation, he cemented his legacy at the school and in my mind in just one season leading that team.
Honorable Mentions: Winston Shepard (expectations of him treat his legacy unfairly imo), Jamaal Franklin (the Grindson), Xavier Thames (completely put the team on his back in so many games, none more so than @ Kansas).

I agree with everyone but I am going with Al Faux as he was lights out. Will always be in my Top 3 with Randy and Kawhi. Al Faux, he was instrumental in the beginning years. then Billy White, then DJ.. I'll n leave off KL because he was an Aztec for only 2 Years. hard to pick one or two.

Oh, this is a tough one. Can't pinpoint just one. I'll throw in Zo Wade, JJO, DJ Gay, Josh Davis and Pope.

I mean, Kawhi is up there, but my most fond memories was the DJ Gay/Billy White connection.

Brandon Heath. Not just because he was a stud leaving as MWC all-time leading scorer but how he developed off the court too.

All of the above are on my list, but I have an extra special place in my heart for:
1. KL, i.e. single-handedly beating Vegas in the MWCT final with 15 points and 22 boards + clapping/laughing Jimmer goodbye 2. DJ, i.e. tear-drop in the final seconds vs. Vegas in the MWCT semis + single-handedly coming back/bombing/beating UNM @ The Pit 3. Jamaal Franklinstein, i.e. with the backboard dunk + saving our @$$e$ vs. BSU with the buzzer-beater in the 1 v 8 game. 4. The entire 2014 team on Senior Night (and whichever coach on the bench that convinced Fish to implement the 1-3-1).

Kell, Kawhi, Shepherd
It's hard to include the one year guys because they weren't here that long, but if I did, Davis and Flynn come to mind
